Talk:Animated Item Gallery
From Webkinz Insider Wiki
New section needed?
There are two new webkinznewz prizes that are animated.
The Movie Slate and Flora's Flowerpot.
Should a "Webkinz Newz Prizes" section be added to the animated gallery?
Thanks for considering. --Curiousg 18:21, 6 March 2011 (EST)
Link disappeared - it is ok if that was what the editors wanted but just wanted to be sure it didn't happen just by mistake. Just wishing for link back to collectors page at top. It is totally OK if this was a conscious decision to remove the link. --Curiousg 15:07, 8 October 2010 (EDT)
There is a link to the Collectors Pages at the bottom of the Animated Item Gallery in the green box that lists all of the unique pages. Is that what you are looking for? I don't remember what the one at the top of the page looked like, but would you like one there as well?
--monkeecj 19:52, 9 October 2010 (EDT)
Rather a belated answer - I don't think we need the link now that the animated gallery is within the picture gallery. Thank you!

Typo for Name of Section
As the month draws to a close & the animated section is removed from the monthly "featured articles" list, I would love to see a link placed at the top of this page (the animation page) to take us back to the Collectors Items. (I know that link is at the bottom too but I find it much easier to use the links at the top. Thanks for considering this request for this locked page.

Typo on Main Page *SOLVED*
On the locked page there is a minor typo in the sentence:
Clocks that are do not have animation other than time-keeping are not included here.
(get rid of the "are" and it should be fine.) --Curiousg 14:41, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
Thank you. Fixed ---Canonymous 17:25, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
Thanks for fixing these Canonymous & ClaraZ25!--Curiousg 07:52, 12 August 2010 (EDT)
Robo Helmet Animation *SOLVED*
This is coming along very nicely! This will be such a great help to all those collectors! Great job QuackQuack! love your animation! --Dragonbird 09:38, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
Here's QuackQuack's picture - I love it.
Zumwhere Cloud Machine Question *SOLVED*
Also, it looks like there might be two Zumwhere Cloud Machines by accident. One is out of alphabetical order so that's why we may have missed it before. (One has the picture & one has just the wishcoin placeholder.--Curiousg 07:33, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
Thank you. I will fix this ASAP. --ClaraZ25 11:38, 11 August 2010 (EDT)
Agreed - it is a lot of work. Thanks for all your contributions here!--Curiousg 09:26, 31 July 2010 (EDT)
I think your window looks great (my eyes aren't seeing the edge issue at all)! I'm going to bow out now, and allow the folks that have camtasia carry on..I find that to get stills of all these images to make them look good is just entirely way too time consuming-especially when the outcome is something less than desirable, and someone will wind up doing a better job anyhow. Good luck folks, and great job everyone, this page is going to be fabulous (it already is! )--Dragonbird 08:51, 31 July 2010 (EDT)
I have begun uploading a few more now, but most of them are flawed in small ways. For example, the edges on the cloud nine window flicker because I had some trouble removing the background. If the flaws bother anyone at all, please feel free to put the wishcoin holders back in there!!--Curiousg 08:04, 31 July 2010 (EDT)
Thanks to both of you. Yup I tried to remove the background on all the layers & yes, I did seem to leave a little bit behind. Dragonbird, you are right I may have to wait for it to snow in webkinz :) or someone can download and fix it who is able to. I'll keep messing around trying to figure out transparent backgrounds & so I probably won't load up very many animations until I feel like I have it somewhat figured out. I'll try to help in other ways in the meantime. Thanks again.--Curiousg 16:35, 29 July 2010 (EDT)
Curiousg: You did a great job with the pinwheel! I use the magic wand tool for bacgrounds that are mostly solid as well, are you remembering though to wand each layer individually? Sometimes, I find that trying to use the wand tool though, with the grass background is tough (sometimes it leaves whisps of the grass and doesn't select it all)-some items might be easier to do once the snow falls in WW --Dragonbird 15:21, 29 July 2010 (EDT)
Yes. Someone can edit them.---Canonymous 14:07, 29 July 2010 (EDT)
I did the Rainbow Pinwheel from the wshop. I can't figure out how to cut out the background. I can cut out backgrounds ok in a still frame with Adobe Photoshop. I use the magic wand tool and then cut and I seem to be removing what I want, but when I try to do it on all the frames of a .gif, then when I go to save it, it isn't right. The frames seem to be blended together somehow ?? So, I left the background in. --Curiousg 13:14, 29 July 2010 (EDT) If we leave the background in, is there anyone who can download our pictures from the Wiki and take out the background if possible? Does that waste Wiki server space?--Curiousg 13:14, 29 July 2010 (EDT)
I've done a few "outdoor only" items that I'll (or someone else) should redo once the snow falls...Some things are just really tough to cut the background out on the grass (like the Cat's Meow Garden), since it has greens very similar to the grass). --Dragonbird 08:22, 29 July 2010 (EDT)
I should think that simply by adding the items onto the wiki page (even without the animation) should be sufficient...maybe if someone is unsure of where it should go, just stick the description of said item on the bottom of the page, and someone else could always squeeze it in where it belongs? I think maintaining a list of this magnitude might be more trouble than it is worth, since the animators are probably mostly looking at the page for what still needs an image..Also, should we break up the exclusive categories to retired and current?--Dragonbird 10:54, 28 July 2010 (EDT)
Would you like one great big long list in the forum or separate threads for each subgroup. Can a single post (the first one) really hold the entire list?) (Oh, maybe with spoilers!?)--Curiousg 07:08, 28 July 2010 (EDT)
The list can be in the forum. You can add things here too if you want though
-- Canonymous 23:03, 27 July 2010 (EDT)
I admit that I am confused as to what I am supposed to do on the forum. Am I supposed to put the list there? If I am not supposed to do anything that's cool.
If anyone thinks that someone else should be first post on the animation thread - please change that if possible! I don't really feel like I fully understand, and I am very happy just to help in small ways. I can work on the where things go page instead and just watch what happens here.
IMO The animations look great!
--Curiousg 22:17, 27 July 2010 (EDT)
I added the jumpin juke box, leaping dolphin fountain, plasma peace sign I'll go look for that list in the forum-I didn't realize there was one. --Dragonbird 21:25, 27 July 2010 (EDT)
We have a list going in the forum. Have you found even more?--
-- Canonymous 21:01, 27 July 2010 (EDT)
Are we supposed to add stuff that isn't currently there? I added a few items I didn't see, but do, indeed, have animations...please correct me if I'm doing it wrong-I don't want to mess up everyone's hard work...thanks so much~dbird
