Avatars and Signatures

Avatars and Signatures on Webkinz Insider are small graphics that can be displayed on your posts in the forum. An avatar will be displayed under your username when you make posts on the forum. A signature will be displayed under your post.

How to Add an Avatar to Your Posts on Webkinz Insider

To add an avatar on Webkinz Insider follow these directions:

  • On the menu bar in Webkinz Insider click User CP
  • From the drop down menu click "edit avatar"
  • From the edit avatar page you can choose from several pages of pre-made Webkinz avatars or you can upload a custom avatar of your own.
  • To choose a custom avatar you may upload one from another website by entering the URL for the image in the "Option 1" box near the bottom of the page. Or to choose one from your computer simply browse for the file by clicking the browse button near "Option 2". Once you have selected a file or entered a URL to an image link click save changes and your new avatar should be there.

File size limits for avatars on WI.

WI Members ~ 125 by 125 pixels or 48.8 KB WI2 Members ~ 125 by 125 pixels or 97.7 KB

If your file size is too large your avatar may be auto resized to fit into WI limits. This might mean if it is animated it won't be when uploaded. Transparent images with a pixel size that is too large are also uploaded as jpegs and do not maintain transparency. If your file size is too large you may have better results if you resize your image before you upload it to WI.


How to Add a Signature to your posts on Webkinz Insider

To add a signature to your posts on Webkinz Insider follow these directions:

  • On the menu bar in Webkinz Insider click User CP
  • From the drop down menu click "edit signature"
  • From this page you have options for adding pictures and text to your signature.
  • To save your signature with the changes you've made scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Signature".


How to Add Text to Your Signature

  • You can add text to your signature and format it to your liking by working within the "Edit Signature" box.
  • To save your signature with the changes you've made scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Signature".


How to Add a Picture to Your Signature

  • Open the "Edit Signature" page. Follow the directions above in "How to Add a Signature to Your Posts on Webkinz Insider" to open the page to edit your signature in one window.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page to the "Signature Picture" section.
    • Here you can choose Option 1 to upload a graphic from a website for your avatar, or you can use Option 2 to browse for a graphic on your computer.
  • Once you have the correct link click "upload".
  • You will then return to the "Edit Signature" page. Again scroll to the bottom of the page to the Signature Picture section and click "Insert Signature Picture" which is located to the right of where the picture should now be.
  • After you have clicked Insert Signature Picture you can scroll back up to the "Edit Signature" dialog box and there you should now find these words "[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]" this will mean that the picture you have uploaded will appear in your signature.
    • In the dialog box you can choose to center or left/right justify your picture. You can also add a link to the picture so that when it is clicked it goes to a special link.
  • To save your signature with the changes you've made scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Signature".

How to Make a Link in your Signature

To add a link to your signature follow these directions:

  • For greater ease, have two browser windows open while doing this.
  • In one window, have the webpage that you want to be in your signature ready. Highlight the Web address (the URL) at the top of your browser window, right-click on it and click COPY (or click control-C).
  • In the second window have the "Edit Signature" page open. Follow the directions above in "How to Add a Signature to Your Posts on Webkinz Insider" to open the page to edit your signature in one window.
    • In the message box, type in whatever words you want for your link. Highlight that phrase. If you want to link to your picture, highlight the [sigpic][/sigpic] instead.
    • Click on the blue earth symbol. Clicking on the earth will open up the Hyperlink window.
    • Paste the URL of the thread from the other window into the dialog box, making sure that there is only one http://
  • To save your signature with the changes you've made scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Signature".
