Daylight Savings and Webkinz World, Time to Spring Forward

For most of our members, it's time for Daylight Savings to begin.  This means we have to set our clocks forward by one hour on Saturday night, and get a little bit less sleep on Sunday morning.  There have been many questions in the forum today about how this change will affect KinzTime.  KinzTime is affected by Daylight Savings and will also be adjusted by one hour.  This will most likely take place during the evening maintenance and you shouldn't notice any change.  Keep in mind that DST starts at 2am, not Midnight.  

 

 



Now, for our members who live in areas that do not change their clocks for Daylight Savings, like Saskatchewan, you will notice a difference on Sunday morning.  Just like how the areas around you change their clocks, KinzTime will change too.  This just means you will need to adjust your math a little bit when you figure out what time the Daily Activities you want to do will be available.  Of course, this is probably something all of you are used to by now.

Celebrating Spring in Webkinz World

It's time to Celebrate Spring in Webkinz World.  As many of you have noticed, today's Daily Activities started bright and early at 9am KT this morning instead of at the usual 4pm for weekdays.  It looks like we will have a week of all-day activities leading up to Easter on Sunday, April 12th.
 
Last year, Ganz ran a "Spring Fest" on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Easter weekend.  During last year's event, colored Easter eggs floated randomly by in Webkinz World and players who clicked on a egg won some Chocolate Eggs to feed to their Webkinz.  Could Ganz be planning on running a similar event this year?
 
And, of course, on Sunday, don't forget to visit Webkinz World to receive your special Spring-themed gift.  Last year's gift contained Chocolate Eggs, Spring Celebration Shoes, and a wShop Tulip Planter.
 

Spring Celebration Arrives in Webkinz World!

The Spring Celebration has arrived in Webkinz World! Last year, the Spring Celebration ran from Good Friday to Easter Sunday, but it appears that this year's Spring Celebration will only be for Sunday!
 
 
Our members with Asian accounts have confirmed that the Spring Gifts and Floating Eggs appeared right as the clock rolled over to Sunday morning.
 
This year's Spring Gift contains an Easter Egg Area Rug, Chocolate Easter Eggs and Springtime Jellybeans.

Fourth Annual Webkinz Day Arrives in Webkinz World!

The 4th Annual Webkinz Day has arrived in Webkinz World Asian Accounts! Webkinz Day is April 29th of every year, celebrating the launch of Webkinz World on April 29th, 2005.
 
This Webkinz Day, Ganz didn't disappoint, with a beautiful 4th Webkinz Day trophy! In the past, the Webkinz Day trophies have just been re-colored, but this is an all-new design sure to please all Webkinz fans!
 
For those with the Webkinz Day Countdown display, you'll notice that all the balloons have appeared, along with fireworks!

Medieval Bear Tapestry On Webkinz Day Superwheel!

Make sure that you log into your accounts on Webkinz Day, April 29th not just for your Webkinz Day gift, but also your spin on the Super Wheel! The prizes on the Super Wheel have been changed for this Webkinz Day and it now includes an item previously unavailable in Webkinz World -- The Medieval Bear Tapestry!

You may remember an article written by FIA in early March about some previously-unknown Medieval Items -- Possible New Medieval Items Discovered on Webkinz Newz.  The mystery of the Medieval Bear Tapestry spotted in those images has now been solved!
 
Many members have reported that the Medieval Tapestry has magically appeared in their docks, before spinning the Super Wheel.  At this point, we are unsure as to why.

June 1st Events in Webkinz World

June 1st is just around the corner, and there are a lot of things scheduled to happen in Webkinz World on Monday:
 
  • Pet of the Month Ribbons - On the 1st and 15th of every month, floating Pet of the Month Ribbons come to Webkinz World.  Click on a ribbon to get a chocolate version to feed to your Webkinz.
  • Pink Pony POTM - It's a new month, and there's a new Pet of the Month.  For June it's the Webkinz Pink Pony.  Adopt a new Webkinz Pink Pony any day in June to receive a special POTM gift and to participate in special POTM activities.
  • Deluxe Membership Gifts - Those of you who have signed up for a Deluxe Membership will receive a new Deluxe Gift Box in June.  June's special clothing item is expected to be a Pretty Prom Dress.  According to Ganz' customer service representatives, the programming for the boxes has been changed, and the boxes will all be awarded on the first of the month.
  • Caring Valley Tree - There's a new tree coming to the Caring Valley.  Members entering the Caring Valley code off of specially tagged Caring Valley Webkinz, and planting the required saplings in June, will receive a Magic Maple Tree they can customize and display in their Webkinz' yards.
  • Pearl Pup - The Pearl Pup is scheduled to debut at the Webkinz eStore on Monday.  This new Birthstone Webkinz will be available at the eStore every day in June.

Summer Sensation Gifts Arrive on Asian Accounts

It's just after Midnight on Sunday morning for players who have their Webkinz World accounts set to the Asain time zone.  Thanks to these players we can bring you a report on this year's Summer Sensation Gift.  
 
If you don't want to have the surprise of this year's gift spoiled, please don't read any further.  If you just can't wait to see the it, click "Read More" below.
 
Those of you with Webkinz World accounts set to the European or American time zones will receive your gifts sometime after your accounts change over from Saturday to Sunday.  
 
Don't forget to spin the Super Wheel on Sunday to have a chance at some great prizes.
 
NOTE:  We are getting reports from some members who have not yet received their gifts.  This is not the first holiday where something like this has happened.  For some reason, different accounts get their gifts at different times.  If you haven't received your gift by Monday morning, that's when you may need to be concered.  At that point, the offices at Ganz will be open and you can contact them regarding your missing gift.  1-866-932-5469

July 1st is just around the corner, and there are a lot of things scheduled to happen in Webkinz World on Wednesday:

Webkinz Wednesday and More at the Ganz eStore, July 1st

It's Webkinz Wednesday at the Ganz eStore and the pet of the day is the Woolly Mammoth.  In addition to the Mammoth, this is the first day the Ruby Retriever, July's Birtstone Pet, has been listed for sale.  The Ruby Retriever will be for sale at the Ganz eStore every day of July.
 
In addition to being Webkinz Wednesday, today is also the first day of the Ganz eStore 5 Day Spectacular. You may remember that we brought you pictures of this event on the eStore menu last week, but at that time we didn't know what it was for.  Today, all has been revealed. 
 
The 5 Day Spectacular is a celebration of both Canada Day on July 1st and Independence Day on July 4th.  From July 1st through July 5th, different items will be on sale at the Ganz eStore.  Some deals will be available to all members, and others will only be available to Deluxe members.  For complete details, please visit the 5 Day Spectacular page on the Ganz eStore site, HERE.
 
It's worth noting that the Kinz Tunes downloads are now available to all players, not just those with Deluxe Memberships.  Also, a brand new pet will be available for sale to Deluxe members on July 4th.  Could this be the Rainforest Boa that was originally scheduled for release in June?  Or maybe the Cotton Candy Sheep?  We'll have to wait and see.
 
UPDATE:  Congratulations to Webkinz Insider member Lotamoxie on her adoption of a Ruby Retriever. Here you can see "Devil Dog" posing next to his Pet Specific Item, the Ruby Window.  The Pet Special Food for the Ruby Retriever is the Ruby Red Sundae.
 

Webkinz Wednesday @ eStore & Saturday's Griffin Rug contest

Ganz has announced that both the Webkinz Griffin and the Webkinz Phoenix will be available for sale at the Ganz eStore (www.ganzestore.com) on Wednesday, July 15th.  The Birthstone Pet for July, the Ruby Retriever, will also be for sale.
 
  
 
Also, according to the Webkinz Newz, Ganz is holding another Griffin Emblem Rug Contest this month.  For one hour on Saturday, July 18th, from Noon to 1pm Eastern Time, Rugs will be "flying" on the Webkinz Newz site.  Click on a rug for a chance to win a feature code for a Griffin Emblem Rug.
