Webkinz Rare = Thu, Sept 20th = 2pm KT = Master Grill $4450
“What’s got you feeling a little under the weather?” Dr. Quack asks me.
Perched up on the examining table in the clinic, I yawn. “I don’t know.”
“Okay, Merthyn, let’s listen to your heart. Now there’s a ticker you could keep time to!”
“Tee-hee,” I giggle. “That’s my favorite line, Doc.”
“Thanks. Mine, too. I’ve been using it for years. Well, Merthyn, I think you could use a little more sleep.”
“Actually,” I say, “that’s part of the problem. Lately, I’ve been staying up later.”
“Let me guess, exactly two hours later?”
I nod. “How did you know?”
Dr. Quack ruffles his feathers. “There’s a lot of that going around these days. What else?”
“When I do go to sleep, I can’t lie down. I find myself sleeping standing up in bed.”
“Hmmm. Anything else?”
“Yeah. I slide everywhere.” I get up and walk to the door. At least, I try to walk to the door, but really I’m sliding. I slide to the door, I slide back, I slide to the door again, I slide back. “It may look like fun, but I can’t even bring myself to go to the clubhouse. I'm afraid everyone will laugh at me."
“Well, laughter’s good medicine, and tastes better than the stuff I give out. Don’t worry, Merthyn. It’s just a glitch. A lot of webkinz have it. I’m sure Ganz will fix it soon.”
“I sure hope so. I do feel better knowing I’m not the only one.”
Dr. Quack looks at his clipboard. “I guess the only other thing we need to talk about is the reason Arte brought you in.”
I glance over at Arte, who is cowering behind the curtain. “Well, I’m always glad to see you, Doc, but Arte....” I lower my voice. “He’s been acting strange ever since I got to the Curio Shop.”
“I can see why,” Dr. Quack says with a smile. “Sorry, I couldn’t resist. The thing is, Merthyn, we can’t see you. When you talk, we see your words, but, well, we don’t see you. You’re completely invisible.”
“Really? Whoa! I knew if I kept practicing my spells, I’d get the hang of it! That’s so cool!”
“Enjoy it while it lasts,” Dr. Quack says. “I think it might be temporary....maybe just a glitch, too.”
“You don’t know that,” I argue. “It could be magic.”
“Yes, Merthyn, it could be. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I better check Arte’s ticker. He’s had quite a shock.”
Here’s the list, and don’t worry about Arte. Dr.Quack says he’ll be fine if he just eats his favorite food and plays a game or two. Meanwhile, I’m off to enjoy being invisible!
