Ganz Adopts New Policy For Pet of the Month!

 

Written by Justin, on April 1, 2008 Views 1354     UPDATE: This news has been corrected by Ganz.  There have been no Pet of the Month policy changes and the missing loot bags are possibly due to a bug!We have breaking news emerging from our forum about the Pet of the Month.  A user from our forum, skysierra, has reported and the staff here at Webkinz Insider has confirmed that Ganz has changed their policy on Pet of the Month adoptions. This new rule is especially important to those who trade for Pet of the Month items! It is rather confusing, so I'll use an example to illustrate the rule: Let's say that today you have adopted 4 Pet of the Month pets over the past few months.  In addition, you have also traded for 3 other Pet of the Month items that you really liked.  So, you have adopted 4 Pet of the Month Webkinz, but have 7 Pet of the Month items, right? Ganz's new policy will not award you any Pet of the Month items until your Pet of the Month adoptions equals the number of Pet of the Month items in your account! In this situation, you would have to activate #5, #6, #7 and get no Pet of the Month items until you activate an 8th Pet of the Month! One of our staff members has spoken with Customer Support at Webkinz and confirmed the new policy.  For those that have already adopted and were not aware of the policy, there is a one time exception on an account to replace the item that you did not receive with the adoption. For those that have traded for Pet of the Month items, we suggest that you KinzPost any "extra" items to a secondary account before adopting a new Pet of the Month on the main account. Pet of the month adoption My daughter adopted her pink poodle this morning & received a bonus gift instead of her pet of the month item. She opened the gift & it was an exclusive rainy day window. She had been given a few pet of the month items in the past, so this new policy explains how that happened. However, the funny thing is...she didn't receive a new room for her pet! I have several pets that have been pet of the month but I have only adopted one during the correct month. I have several pet of the month items from trading. Coming from someone whose mom doesn't just "drop everything and buy me a Webkinz," I think that people should buy POTM's for the items, not just trading. I collect all kind of windows and my cousin traded the Dexer Window for something else. I have had two pet of the months but only one I have adopted when it was Pet of the Month.I am not getting any of them up to June but I need to see what is coming up. New Policy It would have been nice for Ganz to inform us of this policy change before April 1st. Even though I've never traded with anyone, I would like to keep that option open in the future. Are we talking about pet of the month exclusive items? Or the item that comes with each animal? My daughter adopted her pink poodle this morning (see comment #3). I thought she didn't get the pet of the month exclusive item & got an extra exclusive item in its place. I just found out that she received 2 exclusive items & the pet of the month exclusive item, but she didn't get the item that comes with the pink poodle or a new room. This happened to my daughter and we just called and they added it to her dock right away. My question is what if we have one of each POTM items through adoptions, not trading, and then adopt another POTM... no more exclusives... as in do you get one of each and then nothing or do you "Start over"?
