As a follow-up, it looks like the Webkinz team has brought another change to Webkinz World with the lengthy maintenance window this morning: The Pet of the Month area has been added to the W Shop, showcasing the items that will be given in the "Goodie Bags" when a user adopts a Webkinz Pet of the Month.

In a most interesting turn, by all estimates, Webkinz World was open for about 20-30 minutes when people were able to see the new theme and this new Pet of the Month section. A glitch was quickly discovered in that you were actually able to PURCHASE the Pet of the Month items!!

Webkinz World is back online and the glitch has been corrected. Ganz took this in stride and removed the purchased items from all accounts and returned all of the spent Kinz Cash! NOTE: It appears that some people may STILL have the items in their yards/homes/docks, so take a look!

Even though the glitch has been corrected, we were able to put together a few screenshots for those of you who missed out on all the excitement!! It was quite an afternoon!!

I, myself had logged in to take screenshots of the new items to post into this story and when I clicked on the animated window, I saw the following.

I attempted to purchase one and was able to do so. I clicked on the next items and they, indeed, were for sale, as well. All were $700, except for the "Donut seeds" which were $400. I bought a few of each item (as much as my Kinz Cash limit would allow me to), checked my dock to see the items and went to my room to try them out and was logged out.

Goyoga on our forum, was able to take a couple of screenshots. So we treat you with a rare screenshot (the only one known to exist at this point) of Goyoga's Webkinz Pig riding the new Super Stunt Unicycle!! In addition, you can see the star machine in their dock.

Now that Webkinz World is back up, here are the photos and descriptions of all the new Webkinz Pet of the Month items. They look really, really cool and I'm sure that a lot of people will be activating Webkinz Frogs in October and Webkinz Black Bears in !

The items are:

  • What swims in the depths of this darkened pond? Add some mystery to your pet's yard with this great item!
  • According to DTTiger, it is a sea serpent that moves around in the pond!
• Frosty Snow Making Machine
  • Invented by Goober himself, this arctic apparatus can create snow all year round!
• Stellar Star Blaster
  • This crazy contraption sends a flurry of stars into your pet's room. What could be more fun?
• Super Stunt Unicycle
  • Run circles around other webkinz on this impossibly cool vehicle!

In an even more bizzare turn, it appears that some people still have some of the items they purchased. DTTiger on our forum has posted screenshots with time stamps of the items in his yard and dock, which are shown below!
