All of the rumors regarding the Webkinz eStore can finally be put to rest.  The eStore website is now officially open, and ready for business.  You may remember several months ago we brought you pictures of some eStore items that had been mistakenly awarded with Carrier and Backpack codes.  Now all of those items, and more, are available for purchase at www.webkinzestore.com.

The items currently available for purchase are:

• Blast Off Rocket Bed - US $9.00
• Picnic Basket Bed - US $9.00
• Railway Dreams Train Set - US $5.00
• Night And Day Chair - US $4.00
• Large Garden Waterfall - US $7.00
• High End Fridge - US $5.00
• Designer In-ground Pool - US $8.00
• Modular Sofa - 3 Seat Combination - US $6.00
• Modular Sofa - Expansion Pack - US $6.00
• High End Stainless Steel Stove - US $5.00
• Knight's Suit of Armor - US $7.00

When you purchase the item, you recieve a code, similar to a Trading Card code, that you then enter in the Webkinz Code Shop to claim your prize.  Once placed on your account, these items cannot be traded or sent via KinzPost.  Also, please keep in mind that trading of codes is NOT allowed on Webkinz Insider.

:eek It looks cool and I would love to have some of that stuff. But to spend real money on virtual items; I just don't know. But with the plushie you get the plushie and the virtual. I like the stuff you buy and the code because you get both, but only spending money for a virtual item is kind of strange. Anything to make money I guess, but I sure would love some of that stuff.

I think it's pretty cool but a bit on the pricey side. I was hoping it would be less.

I also saw a question in the FAQs about a limit on items/pets that can be purchased so it seems like they may sell virtual pets there as well. I'd be ok with that if you get all of the same things you do at the store but for less money. Say, maybe $7 or $8 instead of $12-$14.

Hrmm....

I'm realllyyyyy not sure how I feel about this, in terms of ethics : It's pretty expensive, and while I'm no kid, I could imagine some kids who really want these items having a hard time explaining to their parents why five, eight, or nine dollars should be spent on a a virtual item.

I'd much rather have it where someone works for the said items!

The e-store is very, very dumb and stupid. If I could, I would complain to ganz. Who's mother is going to let their child to pay as much as $9.00 for a virtual item. Stupid Stupid Stupid! Plus, what if you loose the item. Then you just paid $9.00 for nothing! Ganz is trying to get peoples money! Listen guys, I've been a member on Webkinz for a pretty long time, and I've seen some cool stuff, but this is one of the DUMBEST ideas I've ever seen. I mean, you've got to be kidding me! I have to say I agree with everyone else. The stuff is cool. I went through the shop and saw a lot of stuff that would be neat-O in my house. But you have to buy it with...REAL MONEY? :? I mean think about this for a sec guys, if your going to buy somthing for REAL money, make it worth while. Worth while means that you can touch it, play with it, and so on. I can see how they wouldn't want to have under $5 since the credit card processing costs money but they should offer packages of five or six items you choose.
