"Arte how long have I been coming to see you?"
"I don't remember Merthyn. It has been awhile though, why?"
"Everyday I go in those mines and look for gems and I have yet to get a crown of wonder. I mean there are people with multiple crowns and I can't even get one!"
"It's okay Merthyn."
"Arte is there some sort of trick that I don't know about?"
Laughing Arte replies, "No, there are no tricks. I buried those gems myself in there."
"Why are there many slags then? I have lost track of the number of slags that I have mined. I either get slags or that Booger Nugget. Speaking of that; why is it that sometimes you offer me $30 for it and other times $12?"
"It's all about supply and demand Merthyn. When my supply is low, I will offer you a higher price. Some days it seems like eveyone brings in that same gem. On those days where my supply is high, I offer a low price."
"I understand now. I just want that crown though. It looks so nice."
"Excuse me a minute Merthyn, I have a customer."
"Absolutely Arte. Go right ahead."

Looks dark outside, but the clock says 9am. Hmm. I can see it is raining outside. That's good cause now I don't have to water that garden of mine. I wish a sprinkler was invented so that I wouldn't have to stand out there all day watering my crops. Tabby has been so nice to me lately. She sent those ATV's for me and Arte to play with and she had someone install this window for me. I would have never known it was raining outside if I didn't have this window. I need to thank her, but how?
I KNOW! I will invite her over and a couple other friends and have a picnic inside. I think she will love it.
Congratulations to carolinejv, winner of Winnie's weekly 'Once upon a time...' story contest for the Kid Division! As promised, we are featuring her story here on the front page of WI. There were many wonderful entries which can all be viewed on the contest board of the forum area. So without further ado...here is "Bakery Bunny" by carolinejv!
Bakery Bunny The morning sun was shining brightly through the windows of Winnie’s bedroom. Winnie slowly opened her sleepy eyes. She stretched her arms and legs, and wiggled her long floppy ears. All at once, she hopped on top of her covers and exclaimed, “Good morning, Sunshine! Isn’t it a beautiful day?”
Today was Saturday and Winnie LOVED Saturday! It was her ‘Whatever Winnie Wants’ day and yesterday, Winnie had decided that this Saturday, she wanted to bake treats to take to all of her friends in Webkinz World.
It has been confirmed that Bob the Tomato, host of the popular Veggie Tales children's videos, is alive and well, two days after Plumpy the Hippo allegedly ate him.
According to a police report, Plumpy turned herself in at 8:15 pm on Sunday, saying, "I think I've eaten him; I think I've just eaten Bob the Tomato." She went on to describe how, while preparing dinner, "I heard a voice coming from a tomato saying, 'God made you special and he loves you very much.' And I said to the tomato, 'Well, thanks, I'm sure God made you special too.' And then I just threw it into the stew -- because my food, it tries to sweet talk me, tries to get out of being eaten -- it happens a lot. But then after dinner I thought about it, and I wondered, 'Did I really just eat Bob?'"
(He's okay, everybody! He's okay!)
Police immediately began attempts to contact Bob's publicist at Big Idea Studios in order to establish his whereabouts. As there are no laws against eating vegetables (talking or otherwise), Plumpy was simply referred to Dr. Hippocampus for psychiatric evaluation.

I look at caller ID and see it is Arte. "Good Morning Arte."
"Morning Merthyn, can you meet me in an hour in that lot you cleared for me?"
"Sure no problem, what are we going to do?"
"It's a surprise Merthyn. I know how you love surprises."
"I do. Just a little hint though?"
"Okay, here you go. I need you to wear your jeans, black t-shirt and worker boots."
"That's my hint?"
"YEP! See you in an hour."
