One of the members of our Webkinz Forum, roselake, became the first WebkinzInsider member to activate the Webkinz Black Poodle! She posted pictures of every step of the adoption, so that all of us can see what you get for activating the new pet!
Unfortunately, she cannot load the room with her Black Poodle in it, due to a glitch in Webkinz World. She is still able to switch pets and took screenshots of the Black Poodle's PSI "Poofy Poodle Chair" and PSF "Licorice Canepes". Everyone congratulate roselake on her adoption of Paris!
Earlier today, our attention was drawn to a thread in our forum created by RamsesII, where he asked the owners of WI many questions that we've heard before, and others that we hadn't. Wendy and I had a great time answering them and figured we'd post an article so the community-at-large could find the answers easier! His thread can be found here, with answers from the staff, as well. It begins:

OK, So far I have gathered that Kevin and Justin pretty much started the site, Kevin had other things to take care of and Justin Kinda took on more of the site and Wendy (Kevin's better/best? half) took over his slot. Bet some of you thought Justin and Wendy were a couple didn't you? Admit it... So what is the rest of the story about ? Inquiring minds want to know.
Looks like many of the new Webkinz items for 2008 are hitting stores! Earlier we announced the activation of the Velvety Elephant, and now three of our members, Noodle, AnnikaO and da8R5w, have purchased the Series Two Trading Cards! The cards were found in the Toronto area and unfortunately the codes cannot be entered into the Code Shop yet. Check out these photos of the cards themselves:
We are excited to announce that a member of the WebkinzInsider forum, Soshe, was able to purchase and activate a new Webkinz Velvety Elephant last evening. She found it in Canada and appropriately named it "Velvet". The Pet Specific Item is the Elephant Travel Trunk and the Pet Specific Food is Creamy Peanut Parfait. She even invited WI staff members over to meet Velvet. Check out the photos below!

Wow. 2008 fell upon us like a thief in the night... I never saw it coming! (Okay, not really. I mean, I do have
a calander.) But anyways, it is customary to usher in the new year with
a New Year's resolution: something one resolves to do differently, or
better, in the coming year. Believe it or not, the Webkinz have the
same custom. We decided to ask several of them about their New Year's
"resolu-kinz" (insert canned laughter here). This is what they had to say:

"My friends have told me that I sometimes come off as superficial and
fake. So this year, I resolve to always keep it real. Which, seeing as
I'm a mythological creature, may be... not such a good idea. On second
thought, I resolve to eat more cupcakes."
