It's Winter Fest time in Webkinz World, and the weather forecast still calls for snow, but all over the board we have been getting reports of snowflake shortages. Many of you have even wondered if the snowflakes had stopped falling completely.
I am happy to report that the snowflakes are still falling. The reason for the shortage is that the timing pattern has changed. Over the weekend chances at snowflakes were occuring every two minutes. It appears on Monday that timing was changed to every six minutes. This is the same pattern that the leaves for Fall Fest were set on last October.
Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, we have confirmed 6 new pets that will be coming to Webkinz World! These 6 pets are due to be shipped to retailers in March and are fully confirmed and are now orderable by retailers.
These newest pets in the Webkinz family are:

With these new pets coming out nearly every month, we have a feeling that more retirements will be coming down the road, as well, so be prepared!
Continuing our early announcements of the pets for the Webkinz Pet of the Month for all previous months with 100% accuracy, WebkinzInsider.Com has confirmed Ganz's selection for April's Pet of the Month.
April's Pet of the Month will be the Webkinz Pink Poodle (HM107).

Winter Fest has officially begun! Snowflakes are flying all over Webkinz World, in the arcade, in the employment office, and even inside of houses! Winter Fest will run in Webkinz World from January 26th through February 1st. The Snowflakes are expected to fall from 6am to 11:59 pm every day.
This year the prizes are more exciting than ever. Clicking on a floating snowflake may win you a cup of Egg Nog, a Framed Winter Scene, Fuzzy Winter Slippers, a Googles Ice Sculpture, a Potted Icicle Tree, a Snow Bear Suger Cookie, a Snow Cone, or a Winter Fest Parka.
In addition to the brand new prizes, four of the five prizes from Winter Fest 2007 have returned. So, those of you who missed out last year have a shot at collecting Hot Chocolate Frozen Mugs, Peppermint Snowflakes, Snowflake Sweaters, and Snowy Blue Toques.
The one prize from 2007 that has not returned is the Polar Plunge Poster. Anyone who has this poster in their house from last year is advised to hang on to it. We don't know if or when it will become available again.

Congratulations to Suzzie621, who was the first user in our forum to report catching a 2008 Webkinz World Winterfest snowflake! The snowflake floated across the screen of her Asian time zone account. For those of you with regular time zone accounts, keep your eyes peeled for snowflakes starting at 6 am tomorrow morning! Early reports of prizes include Egg Nog, Snow Bear Sugar Cookie, Potted Icicle Tree, Framed Winter Scene, Fuzzy Winter Slippers, Winterfest Parka, Snow Cone and Googles Ice Sculpture! There have also been sightings of last year's Winterfest items as well - the Peppermint Snowflake, Frozen Hot Chocolate Mug, Snowy Toque and the Snowflake Sweater!
As reported this morning by those with Asian time zone accounts, Webkinz World enthusiasts will be thrilled to find that the Jellybean Challenge activity has been repaired. After days of struggling with empty jars containing no Jellybeans, it appears the activity has been restored to its intended functionality. So sharpen up those counting skills and get ready to take your best guess!
Some of you may remember the front page article back on December 14th where we reported about WI member KLDKinzMom being the first person to find the completely unannounced, and previously unknown Webkinz Schnauzer. A store in her area had recieved them by mistake in a box marked "Black Fresian".
Since this new Webkinz was unknown, KLDKinzMom checked with Ganz first before adopting and was told to wait until January 23rd. Now that the day has arrived, we have virtual in-game pictures of "Maxine" to share with you.

For a few hours earlier this afternoon, our members with accounts set on the Asian Time Zone were treated to a little "Winter Fest Rewind". We have all been looking forward to the start of this year's Winter Fest on the 26th, but on these accounts the Snowflakes started flying a couple of days early. Not only are they early, but they are giving out last year's prizes!
The 2007 Winter Fest prizes were: Peppermint Snowflake, Frozen Hot Chocolate Mug, Polar Plunge Poster, Snowy Toque and Snowflake Sweater!
