I'd rather see all caps than fonts in colors that can't be read. The lighter colors like green, yellow, pink and even some oranges are sometimes impossible to read.

If you're writing in CAPS on purpose, it does make it feel like being yelled at, I don't like it much ethier. But if it's an accident LIke TiHS I don't mind much

When people do it, it can be in accident, or trying to make an impact.
I know if you're typing in all caps in a post, it'll probably be converted into lowercase letters, but I know for my Graphics Shop, I use all caps to let someone know my Requests are Closed, or if there's something I'm not taking orders for, but I know it's really annoying when someone does it for no reason.
Thanks for alerting WI about a pet peeve many people have.

Caps is supposed to mean talking louder, whether it is an excited yell or angry yelling, but that is the overall meaning of caps in chat rooms.
well, thanks for the information in case i didnt know about those things. i have a magnifier on my computer but i jsut prefer to make my font larger since im not blind, but rather have double vision. that was very thoughtful of you to think of that.

and, yes, i do know what using CAPS means. ive been to other message boards so i know how fired up people can be if you use a word in a capitalized form.i dont use them often. i was just trying to show the other side of this issue and my feeling that its not a big issue and that it baffles me why some people get so mad about it. .

what i do with the colors that are not easy to read i jsut hightlight them and then i can read them, i dont feel the need to start a thread about telling others to stop doing that. i jsut feel there are more important things to worry about.

and my other point was that not every time you see caps is someone shouting. there are many reasons for things that other people do and its not often what we think it is in our minds. we are not face to face, its over a computer. thats all i was saying.

every one can see i use a dark and big font, rather than caps so i wasnt even advocating using all caps jsut explaining why some do or might......................

I agree. I feel like someone is yelling at me. Some people can really misunderstand that someone isn't mad, especially little kids.

Maybe instead of using all caps, try using a larger font. It really does appear as if you are yelling.. LOL

It does not matter if a larger font in used. If a dyslexic child does not recognize lower case letters very well, you can type it in the largest font possible and they still will not recognize it.

I personally think, if you don't like all caps, just skip that post.

It's not okay and generally disliked...but sometimes there are exceptions.

CAPS only in Titles or subtitles is tolerated...it's generally used only for 1 to 3 words...if someone is talking AT you then it's definitely not ok. Generally all forums, not just WI frown on this, and there are better ways of drawing attention to certain words.
