This seems like a good idea, but I know mods have their reasons for deleting posts/threads and rejecting applications, and if you are a good member and know the rules you will know why your thread was deleted/application rejected. This would create an enormous amount of work for mods already doing a great job with our forums. It's a good idea, but it's really not practical.

It's nice to have a notification on why you were rejected, and sometimes it just helps. You'll understand why they did it. That's a good thought.

What Justin is talking about is an automated feature. It does not make additional work for the staff.

We used to have it, but the site was constructed differently back then and at the time, it was causing problems with the servers and bandwidth. Justin is bringing the feature back now and it should work well.

I got this impression from reading posts to that effect and the lack of direct statements in the
information thread. When it says the number of GTs will be limited based .... Coaches can effectively maintain in item 7 of the general information, it only reinforced that idea.

I have never applied, but often felt sorry for those left in limbo about their status.
There have been many posts of confused people, so this misunderstanding is widespread.
I really think adding a little more information WOULD make it more clear.

So maybe an update to existing information is in order.
I would suggest in 3 places:

-the application page:
..with number 1 in the process being to (re)read the information thread carefully so steps are understood and followed.

-a line in item 2 in http://www.webkinzinsider.com/forum/...mation-219641/
saying that more detailed information
about what makes a good post can be found at ...add link here...

-around 5a in http://www.webkinzinsider.com/forum/...mation-219641/

..Your post will remain in the thread until reviewed. At that point it will be deleted and either
-- you have been accepted
and will receive a ?pm? within x time.
You must then follow actions outlined in step 6;
OR -- you did not fully meet application requirements and must wait at lease 2 weeks to reapply.
In the meantime, please work on becoming a helpful member by ...

These suggestions were great. I would like to second the recommendation that more clarity be added to the FAQs and other locations where one could look up information on the GT program.

I became gifted before there was a training program. In those days, it was almost too easy to become gifted... I had 49 good posts, and applied to become gifted with my 50th! I feel almost guilty about how easy it was for me.

When one of my friends went through the application process, we could not figure out why she kept being rejected. One of the mods when asked mentioned that there were only so many gift coaches to go around, so my friend assumed that she was posting quality posts, but had not been accepted due to space constraints. Had it been made clear that all qualified applicants are accepted, she would have probably taken a closer look at those posts and found that she had not posted in enough different forums or something.

Yes, it was just one person's experience, but I agree that the confusion is widespread.

I am glad that there is a training program. As Commodore noted, it was overwhelming to suddenly have access to the GE. I spent weeks on there lurking before I dared to set up my GE. The training program changed all that. Now people get a chance to learn how to trade, and come into the main GE without being quite so intimidated.

None of this is meant to be a criticism at the moderators, admins or lovely gift coaches. I just think that the FAQs need revising, so that all members can have clarity.

Thanks so much for listening!

Just to add to what Justin is saying here...this feature when implemented will be wonderful and not make any extra work for the staff...

And to touch base on the issue of Rules/FAQ and other form threads...we are aware that there are threads that are indeed outdated...some may be quoting information from a time when the GTS was still quite new and fewer GC's were available...that is not the case any longer...so rest assured we are looking into this and will continue to update information on these threads as well!

I hope this helps bring closure to all your concerns...

I think the GT Rejection notice thing would do a great deal of help.
When I apply, I do wonder if I'll become one or not.

I am currently experiencing exactly what is being discussed here...

I applied to the GT program yesterday, my application has since been deleted from the thread. I do not know what that means. Am I accepted, is someone reviewing my application, am I rejected?

I have PMd a wonderful, friendly moderator to enquire what is happening, obviously they are busy and I am waiting to see what information they can give me.

I feel that some sort of feedback is necessary for GT applications, as right now I am feeling upset and angry that I do not know what is happening and why.

I realise this is extra work for people who are not paid, but would hope maybe one person could be made responsible for this particular job, afterall someone had to decide to delete my application. It does not need to turn into a discussion, but just a simple you have been rejected because.... period.

I would like this feedback so I know whether to waste my and the moderators time in applying again (in 2 weeks of course) or whether it is better to move on.
