| | When stating your opinions
I've seen posts of stating their opinions about celebrities, books, and etc. and they always end or mention the phrase "no offense". Sometimes when talking to a group of people, they will have different opinions than you do.
For example, (CRAYONS ARE USED AS AN EXAMPLE TO NOT SIDE WITH AN OPINION) the group thinks that blue crayons are the best crayon color, and you think that actually green is the best crayon color. If you state that you think that green is the best crayon color, and then they reply with 'actually blue is the best, no offense." You might feel hurt because they are sort of putting you down and bashing the color green, and your opinion.
Instead of saying no offense you should say in my opinion, so you won't hurt anyone's feelings. When you say in my opinion, you're just stating your thoughts. But when you say no offense it's more like you are bashing them.
Please keep this in mind!
