Yes, I am using Internet Explorer. What other browsers are there and how do I find them?

As a few people have already posted, if you don't want to be timed out while composing a long post or during any period of inactivity, you have to click and checkmark the "Remember Me" box when you log in. If you do that, then WI will not log you off. Also, you will not have to log on whenever you return to WI.

The most common alternative browser to IE is FireFox. It is free and has fewer glitches.

Just do a google search for websites where you can download it.

Good point, GFred and some others. I always have that box checked and never log out. That might be another simple reason why I never see this problem.

I'm pretty sure this is the cause of the timeout problem because I have this same problem whenever I log on WI on other people's PC and I don't want to check "Remember Me".

Please pardon me for not sounding computer illiterate, but I have never seen a box that says Remember Me. Nothing like tht pops up when I log iin. Is that part of the WI program, or the browser?

I've attached a tiny picture of the login screen. The "Remember Me" is right under "Password" when you log in. You have to click on the box to the left of "Remember Me" so that it is checked. That way, you won't get timed out.

Thank you, GFred. Boy, do I feel dumb. I've always just kept WI up on my computer. Once you log in, that box does not show again. So I logged out and back in, and lo and behold it was there. Thank you for being so patient with an old lady.

As someone that this has happened to before I feel your pain. Yes I use IE also. If I know that I am going to be typing a long post, this is what I do now. I open another window up and so when I am typing up my long post, I will occassionally go back to that other window and refresh. So before you hit submit on your long post, go refresh on the other window and if you logged off, just log back on; go back to long post and submit This is what I do or I just type it up on word then copy/paste it here.

We all have to be patient with him so...ya know...

Because you need another opinion at this point...lol...once I'm done typing something out...I select all then copy...so if for some reason I am timed out (on other computers where I don't want to be "remembered"...lol...once I log back in I can usually click paste and my info is there.

Just yet another thought to add to everyone else's...lol.
