The spyware that I got on two computers acted like an anti-spyware program. It said it detected 36 (or something) trojan/keylogger viruses and then provided a link to buy an anti-spyware program for $50.

The whole thing is the virus...make sure you are using your own anti-spyware program that you've downloaded. Don't trust one called "Spyware Protect 2009" (it was called something like that).

I was on another thread earlier today and someone with a subscription had the same problem. So it appears that buying the subscription does not protect your computer from being infected.

One name of the thing is Worms.
There are no pop-up ads. If you are seeing pop-ups then your browser has some kind of spyware/malware in it. All of the other ads have been here for longer than you have.

That person could've been infected before they got their subscription and/or they are not running any anti-virus or anti-spy/malware on their computer.

Did they block ads once they got the subscription?

Here is a website I found by doing a simple Google search. The virus I got on two computers was indeed called Spyware Protect 2009. If anyone else has seen this pop-up on their computer, please post here so we can get to the bottom of this. Webkinz Insider was the only website I was viewing at the time I got both attacks form this virus.

Here is the link. It provides a great screenshot of what the virus looks like when it pops up.

Justin I think I have to disagree with you- I have not only gotten pop up ads while here (just as recently as about a half hour ago) but I have also been redirected totally to other sites- and I am sure you have already heard about the you have won a Nintendo WI voice that pops up- I now keep my computer on mute to avoid that

Exactly! That is the virus that most people are getting while on WI (again....not directly from WI, but from the ads). The problem is that most people have no idea that the pop up is in fact the virus and they click to allow it to do more damage to their computer.

I'm getting a TON of viruses too. I'm getting in huge trouble, because they all came from WI, and I'm the only one in my family who goes on WI. This has happened before, just not this badly. I'm starting to think I should leave too, I don't want our computer to get ruined...
