I love WI. I don't want to quit. pretty much nobody does. and everyone's worried now.

thank you soo muchh. I'll spread the word about this. (: rep and WI$

As Justin has said, soon we can pay with the WI Bucks.

But, as other members have said, Insider Insiders don't protect from malware and viruses.

Actually, all of the same ads from the same advertisers are there, minus the 160x600 on the side, because it doesn't fit into the template. Please don't use this, thinking you don't need virus protection/spyware protection! You really do need it for surfing anywhere on the Internet, even more so these days.

Is the 160x600 the few ads on the left side? (i.e. Plushie Pals)

I just signed up for the subscription here so we will see what the auto-scan turns up on Tuesday.
Just wanted to stop back long enough to say the weekly scan found Nothing on my PC except some cookies. (And none of those came from WI) I finally turned off the ads yesterday but it was actually just so my printer wouldn't have to print them. I had them on until then. The only time they ever bothered me was when I accidently clicked on one and the computer gave me a message that the site might be a threat risk. I actually went to the
Plushie Pals? magazine ad on purpose and it didn't seem to bother anything.

Just sharing info.

Not all virus scan software is equal. I got one of those pop-up fake virus alert windows a few days ago, and I was having a lot of trouble with my PC. I ran my virus software scan, and it said nothing was wrong. I then downloaded Malware Remove Bot, recommended by another WI member. It found over 4,000 cookies, spyware, and a trojen virus. After I scanned with that the pop-up window was gone, and my PC worked great.

Hope this helps someone else. I appreciated getting help here.

-Knock on wood- with mozilla firefox I haven't gotten attacked, it helps prevent a lot from getting through and I also have Norton's on here as well. But the ads really take up a lot of processing time because they are refreshing like every 30 seconds. I start getting dizzy from all the spinning next to my open tabs!!!

Hope the virus didn't do too much damage and that you were able to get it off before it got too bad.
