I know... to me, posting that no rep is needed means that you just want it more.

That's why I never put that on my posts so people don't feel obligated to give me any, nor do they feel bad if they don't. I think they know that it's appreciated by me, even though I'm not crazy about it.

I agree. I like reminder threads that are thought out and is "unique", something i haven't seen before. Some threads have reminders that, sadly, should be common sense to some instead of having to be reminded too often (such as being nice, respectful) . I can some times tell if the thread is just fishing for rep. But, I completely understand looking in a different view, and we can always keep in mind of the FAQ and rules Or, even subscribe some old threads you see if you need a reminder

Mmm-hmm! Reminder threads you haven't seen before and may not see again [but, you may, due to the copiers and rep-starving.] I know, like luvzingoz said, being nice and polite is learned in kindergarten, and if you don't learn there, your teachers should train you up in grade school. Better yet, your parents, before you even START school.

But taking a review over the FAQ and rules every once in awhikle is NOT a terrible idea, and everyone needs a refresher, but I again state my point.... the faq and rules are there for a reason, and they don't need minimes.

I agree, maybe to fix this problem a mod should make a sticky thread that has all the reminders, so we don't need reminder threads.

I completely agree. It is so annoying, and I an one of the few that posts to help. I hardly ever get rep'ed, and I am fine with that....:-)

Both are lovely threads - unique & different in their own ways, not quite alike, but still have the same purpose.

Well, new members don't always think about stuff like that. Think about when you first joined, they just want to help WI, they don't know what's a useless reminder thread ...

Ahh .. kindergarten memories .... those were the days ...

Now that's what irritates me .... which is basically the point for those threads, right? Not all of them - just some of them, but you can always tell.
Example - " .......... oh, and no rep needed. "

xD
Are they kidding? I've actually seen this in some places .... not just reminder threads too ..

That's a great idea, just subscribing to old reminder threads. Even a quick trip to the FAQ is enough.

That's also a good idea, like all the Gifted stuff links, siggy & profile stuff, GANZ contact info ...
The thing is, most of those threads are already stickys. Some people just don't look hard enough, so they might not see the Sticky of Helpful Stickies thread. Not saying there is one ... just .... yeah. xD

Just my honest opinion

It kind of annoys me because this is a website for webkinz info and stuff, not really getting all personal. I have to say though, making a 'meet my webkinz family' thread is pretty fun!

I agree with xoxomemexoxo and icecube, in a way. The people who post reminders really do mean well, and all that. Just trying to make WI better. But it is true that WI can't be perfect. There will be some less than nice people on here, like on every website. The difference with WI is that they don't tolerate that.

And reminders do get annoying. There's no doubt about that. Esspecially if more than one member reminds you about it. That's enough to make you wanna rip your hair out!.

Doluver's thread had a good point too. People just repeat what they read, to up number of posts/WI bucks/Rep.

Anyway, that's just stuff from my point of view

I know what you mean but some people do need reminders. I don't like it when people do it for rep. which is one of the reasons Justin banned it in 07 I think. I aggre about the new people posting them. (I know I'm new but I've been on WI before and I just needed a break. I was a GG and had over 10000 posts) but any way. That's what that section is for. If you don't like reading them then don't go to that section. I think one "reminder" on a subject should be opened at a time and have alot of thought in it not something that was done quick to get rep.

So... is this a reminder thread of reminder threads reminding others not to remind each other?

How blissfully redundant!
