I think that if you can read it and understand what is being said , then why worry about the grammar. I sometimes use run on sentences, that is because i type as i talk (fast and alot) and i too sometimes for get the " ' " cause it takes too long. I also think that if a child is posting and learning to use a keyboard and makes a few mistakes "oh well" let them and enjoy the reading and guessing .
Y'all are aware that we have users as young as SEVEN, right? Yes, we have 7 year olds who post on here (with their parents' permission)
I am not going to alienate someone just because I spell better or because I know 'proper English.'
I understand what they are trying to say and have also ACTUALLY met people on here whose first language is NOT English. Don't forget that since Webkinz has gone global there are MANY others out there who are not born English speakers/users and we have to be patient as they learn OUR language. I am thoroughly impressed with how quickly some of them have learned and how they have remained with this site even though I have seen their posts get 'flamed' for incorrectness.
Try to remember that, TOO please
well.. i dont agree.... i think that its faster and easier to type like this.. so i dont think im going to stop typing like this.. i commonly misuse.. there, this, these, and such.. i dont think it is that big of a deal.... i really never use (.) (periods) or anthing like its proper use... im a teen ager and they teach us to type nice in school and i really dont care how i type at home.. because on facebook i type in txt form and i love it,... if some ppl dont know wat something means then they should ask... this would not be a good rule.. and many ppl on WI would leave cuz of it..
Thanks for posting this. The only time I use text talk is when I say BTW or G2G, becacause I'm in a hurry. I also get upset when people say "Heyyy" or "Hurryyy" or "Dogsssss". I don't like when people don't put in proper capitalization either, for example, "hey, whats up. what are you doing?" Rep.
hey here dixiecup! I understand what you're saying; I'm not trying to go against someone who doesn't know English that well. All I'm trying to suggest is to type out sentences and not abbreviate as often because it could become a habit and it's harder for others to understand. I am very impressed also by people who learn the English lanuage so quickly because it's not the easy.
