Angry Trading room attitudes

Hi all. I really don't like to post a negative topic, but this is something I feel is really important. First, I want to say that I love to read how WI members are kind and understanding with inexperienced traders. BUT, I've also seen a lot of threads here describing the frustration some people here may feel about inexperienced traders in the rooms. When I first started my account in WW, I though the greatest things were the exclusive items you get when you adopt a pet. I had no idea about 'rares', 'retired items', 'priceless', etc. I still don't really understand the difference in some of those definitions. I would very naively go into the trading rooms with my one windmill (or whatever) and put it up, confident that someone would really want it. People would ask what I wanted, and of course I didn't know what to ask for. I was new. I just asked to see what their best was, since I was putting up my best. Obviously, I was treated with impatience and decided that trading was not fun at all.
Please be aware that there are a lot of non-WI people who come here to read the threads, and may become very intimidated by some threads that criticize those who are not experts. And, please be patient with others in the trading rooms.
Thanks

I completely agree with you. More often than not, my “treasures” are deemed “junk” by other WW traders. The trading rooms, especially in KinzChat Plus, have become so cut-throat, I don't even want to trade anymore. I wouldn't consider myself a top trader, but I have been trading for 2+ years and know a few things. Even so, I usually end up with a rapid heart beat and sweaty palms because I get so nervous and uncomfortable with every demand and rejection I receive. Also, the rudeness in the trading rooms is intolerable. I think Ganz should post a banner in every trading room that reads: "This is only a game! It's supposed to be fun!"

I know! I don't like when somebody keeps trying to trade food for something that is really expensive or something, though. But I agree!

Maybe Ganz could open a "Trading Room for Dummies". I know I'd go there. There would be a 5 minute minimum for trading and maybe a menu we could check. I don't know half the stuff that WW offers so I feel wary of being scammed. Oh well, back to the Arcade for me.

I agree completely. It's very annoying when I go into a trading room with what I consider to be my top items, and I put them up and then people say they don't want that, they have that, do you have anything else?!?!?!? I'm sorry that I don't go out and adopt 200+ pets just to get an exclusive item, I don't have that kind of money. It is very frustrating that you have to spend tons of money jsut to be included in trades and what not. And it is also said that people take advantage of others. I'm sorry that I got a little off topic whith some of the stuff, but I've noticed it for a while and I just need to get it out there,b ecause it really bothers me

Thanks guys, I appreciate your thoughts! I guess my main thought here was to encourage people to be careful how they post in the 'Clubhouse' section here, and to discourage some of the criticism. And, of course, to be patient with newbies in WW.

You have a great sense of humor jenndriver! I would be in the "Trading Room for Dummies" too, with my manual! And. . . still not getting it completely!

I think WW should warn users when they're about to trade something unfairly. On both sides. It will prevent some scamming, and I'm pretty sure many people will deem in helpful.

YOu know Desty, I am a 'timid trader' and I SEE what people write in this Forum. I hear what you are saying and to me the whole idea of trading in the trading room scares me. I have had a couple of experiences that have turned me right off so I rarely go into the trading rooms any more. I just don't like the idea that people will be impatient with me.

Manners are manners, anywhere you go. I wish people would remember to use theirs sometimes I try to be nice, I've given away plenty of good stuff to people who are trading me for items I already have or don't need because they need them and I don't. I try to be nice. I say please and thank you. I also annouce to the room what I'm looking for and what I have to trade before I accept any trade offers so that people get a chance to decide whether I'm worth trading with. That helps alot. I decline every immediate offer to trade and then tell everyone why I'm there. For instance, I needed columns really bad for a room I just started making. I went into the room, declined the immediate offers to trade and started saying, "Looking for medieval columns only! I have this this and this to trade for them! Anyone interested?" One lady said she'd go get hers out of her room and she'd be right back. She did and we had a successful deal right away because of how I approached the trading room. This is the no-fuss way to trade. Expectations are clear, what you have available to trade is clear. No hurt feelings either way
