Default Title your threads so people know what you want.

Please title your thread so people know what you want.

For example, in the "Somebody Help" section, people will title their thread, "I need help!!" or "Please help me!!" Now, people can't know what you need help with if you post something like that. But if you just added a few words onto that title, like this, "I need help with giving my Webkinz a Bath!!!" or "Please help me with my garden!!" Just by adding a few words to a title can make a lot of difference. Same with the polls, people post titles such as "What do you think of....." when they could just add one word and make it clear, like, "What do you think of the Webkinz Hippo?"

I know that I've been guilty of this, thinking that it creates and "Air of Mystery" and that everyone will want to come to your thread. But I find that it might make more people come, but when they see what the topic is, they might not be able to relate or have a comment to say. And the people that would have something to say, might not visit the thread at all because they don't know what it's about!

Now I know that some people probably won't agree with this, and I am happy to hear your opinions, but please keep them constructive and mature.

I agree. When people make thread titles such as "MAJOR PROBLEM!" or "Do you have a...", I get very overwhelmed and anxious because I feel like I have to view them all.

I agree totally. It's a lot easier than having to look through threads with random names to find what you want.

Yes, I have seen threads with titles like:
"IMPORTANT CLICK HERE!" and then they just want to know if they are making a good trade or not.
They should have msde the title: "Is This a Good Trade?"
That way people will know what the thread is about and whether or not they want to click on that thread.
Hope I was a good contribution to this thread!

I am also sick of seeing the thread title "OMG OMG..."

Please tell us what has you so excited so we will want to read about it. OMG tells me nothing and doesn't even spark any interest. All I know is that you are freaking out about something. I think we should start The Thread Title Police - whenever we see a thread with a non-descriptive title, we post that they need to change the title. I have been so tempted to do this lately.

I agree 100%. No, 1000%! Well said.

This is such a huge forum that most of us don't have time to click all the vague, random threads just to see if they're of interest to us. I go to titles that pertain to what I need. Sometimes on the weekends I'll click some of the random ones, but find that many of them are just what you said, and I just pass on it without replying.

About "Thread Title Police": It made me chuckle to think about it. I would love to see it, but I doubt there's any way to do it without offending people. Too bad. I guess we, individually, just have to be responsible about communicating with each other.

Please help everyone find you among the myriad of topics here.
