Default Thread of the same topic.

Posting a thread that is the same information as another one that has already been made is a bit bothersome. I'm fine with it in the avvie siggy section, but like in the new rumor mill, I posted one about the bubblegum dino and the floral fox and their items (i found pics) and someone posted another one. We only need one, peoples. or in the HELP!!! section, someone has posted "help! blue screen in clubhouse!" so you dont go a post "How do I get rid of the blue screen in the clubhouse" you should look at the answers given to that person.

Thank you!

I agree- I mean, sometimes when a thread is way back in the forum and someone new makes a thread on that topic, I suppose it would be okay, but then when a topic is on the first page of a board and someone makes a thread on that same topic? You're right, that bothers me.

Thanks for bringing this up.

this happens a lot in decorating forum,"help, i need room ideas" i see TONS of these, so i just go and made one good post then copy and paste it to this one. if it's a specific room, i don't do that, but there was like two of them right next to each other of the same idea.

I've done this as well, in the Somebody Help! forum. When I haven't posted much, I usually just go back through my recent posts and copypaste answers I've posted for other people. I edit them a little, to suit the exact question, but a lot of times, the same basic responses can be used to answer 5 or 6 threads.

I should just make a notepad file with my "commonly answered questions" in it. LOL.

It is a little annoying, but you have to understand that there are tons of people of all ages on WI. You can't really expect a younger kid to know to look for similar threads. And we also have lots of members who are new to forums, and aren't yet familiar with forum etiquette. They may not even realize that they are supposed to look for answers in threads that already exist. I mean, some of the stuff that people ask on a daily basis can be found right in the stickies. But what can you do? Just be polite and help people out, or if it really bugs you, you could always just direct them to the first thread.

I agree w/ that... Some people might just not know to search and see... OR... they just don't want to search.. LOL
And as for the ideas and all, I think that people want to make sure they are seen as the poster of that idea... they may not want their post "lost" in a thread they didnt' create.. They want to be seen that they thought of it
But, ya, lots of different ages, lots of different thinking processes here
