This whole week i have been complaining about losing my autumn sweater that I really loved. Today a mystery person who was added to my buddies list recently just sent one to me. I was really happy and didn't know how to repay the person. What do you think i should send the mystery person?
I think a note at the most. Maybe this person hacked onto your account and stole it, and then gave it back. It is a possibility, and s/he tried to make it better, but a note will do the job if it was a gift truly from the heart, but then, if s/he stole it, you would not want to reward them. I hate to have to find the negative, but I feel like accounts are always being hacked.
Sometimes all you need to do is say thank-you for a gift. Where did we ever get the idea that just because someone gives us a gift that we have to give them one back? Look up the definition of "gift." You'll find that it probably says something like a thing that is freely given in order to surprise, please a person or celebrate a special event in that person's life.
If we have to give something back, then that kind of negates the persons gift. A great big, hearty, "oh my gosh, how sweet of you! I really love it, thank you so much!" is more than enough to give someone in return!
