Default Suggestion for Somebody Help Section

Hello... First off, I dont know if I am the only one who feels this way or not... But here goes.

Whenever somebody posts a thread in the Somebody Help! section, and then log off, when they log back on there are multiple posts of the same exact thing answering their question. This can be a pain to read through them all, especially if the first post has your answer. By the time you are done reading, another two people have responded with the same exact answer. So, my suggestion is, if you want to reply to a question, check to see if the same thing you were about to post (or, generally the same) has been posted already to help the thread owner out.

oh, I know, I have been seeing this... Sometimes, I put a very detailed answer, and someone puts like, the same EXACT answer as me, with the same links!? It makes it easier when there aren't 5 of the same exact responses.

I tend to answer even if the direct answer is in the post BUT, I tend to give my answer and back it up with Links as well as other knowledge in it. But if you are going to post the same one sentence that the other person posted why?

But for Quack Quack, great minds think alike. There are only so many links on a topic. The members are just trying to be helpful.

But, sometimes, people post the EXACT same thing as the next one And, also, just to make things easier for the asker, posting the exact same thing may be confusing for them

It could be, I have seen your posts they are unique.
They get to the point and are set up nicely.
I find the same links as you sometimes. But if I do I also explain my answer differently sometimes.
But I agree with you.

I don't know really what happens to me is I can post an answer and there are like 5 people writing at the same time I am and then we hit the reply button at the same time and you get 6 posts with the same answer. There isn't a way to stop this from happening because for all of us that were doing that action at the same time..we see ourselves as the first responders until the reply button is hit.

Anyway, what I do is give credit to the first person that answered my question...it isn't necessary to read everything if you find an answer. Also in some instances having lots of people respond with an "I agree." is good for people. Some folks need to see a group of people all feel the same way as that shows it might be the best way to handle something...

So while I agree its frustrating to have lots of posts, this is something you can only control up to a point and at times having more of one of the same is helpful to some...

Also at times people can give the same answer but it might vary just enough that one answer is a little better than the other and explains things just a bit differently...that may be more helpful for a person. So even though a thread could have several of the same answers, how each person chooses to answer and explain something can be helpful to the person who started the thread.

I know what you mean by everyone replying at the same time, but, usually the answers are hours and sometimes even days apart. Check any SH! thread with a bunch of posts to see what I mean

Thanks for your opinions, everyone!

Yes, some things are good, like some provide more accurate info, some, more clear, etc.
And I also understand when people post like seconds after each other

What I DON'T understand is, for ex:

Like, what I don't understand is when people COPY the same answer MINUTES after the first poster

I definitely know what you're saying.
I don't mind when that happens, except for when it's more than a few minutes apart.

If this were to happen, it could be that the person had to step away from the computer while typing their post, happens to me a lot, and simply not see the other person reply.

But I think the case for most of this is that people don't read the previous replies.
