Default Suggestion for the News and Announcements Threads

I have a suggestion for the threads that are in the News and Announcements Section.

I have a bookmarked link that goes directly to the forum index, that skips the front page news. To see the news, I go to the forum section. After a while, it gets quite annoying to keep going back to that section and not finding anything new.

My suggestion is that those threads titles do not always begin with "Breaking News." That way, people who also skip over the front page can actually see the headline as they browse the forum index. Most threads with new and exciting information would be busy, and it would be very easily noticed.

I don't feel like there is really a need to have "Breaking News" in front of every title. Most of us can assume that if it is in that section, that it is breaking news.

Thanks you for reading. I would love to hear your opinion, even if you disagree.

Maybe a solution to this, for both ways, is to illiminate the 'Breaking News', then make important threads like that show up in Blue or Red in the 'New Posts' part of the forum. That way, they are easily seen against the black threads, and people who do the same thing as you don't have to see 'Breaking News', all the time. [:

I agree! I have the WI forum link on my desktop instead of the WI homepage, so it gets annoying when I have to go back and forth.

I never thought of that. I normally realize that they are in the staff only section, but I guess that they would start to blend in. I like the red/blue idea.
