Suggestion: Lower WI Bucks Requirement For Contests
I hope this is in the right spot. I had tons of WI bucks when the decision to deduct WI bucks for contests began. It's a great idea but now I'm down to zero after entering so many contests. Every time I want to enter a contest I have to post like crazy to get it up to 500 then it goes down again. I was wondering if you could lower the amount? Maybe to 200 or 300 WI bucks?
Re: Suggestion: Lower WI Bucks Requirement For Contests
I must disagree here.
If anything, I think that's a way to make it more fair, so people can't just enter every day for every contest and, in a way, lower other peoples' chances of winning as well. And it's kind of an incentive to be more active on the forums, as that gets you more WI bucks as well.
*just saying*
Re: Suggestion: Lower WI Bucks Requirement For Contests
I have to respectfully disagree. If it was a low amount, people would enter every day. This way, the people who enter really want whatever it is. And it encourages people to be active on the forums. They don't want people to just be members for the free stuff.

I also disagree with this, humbly. Like any "lottery" type contest, if you have a great prize, obviously it the "ticket" to enter will be a bit expensive because, hey, where's the fun in making it cheap with a lame prize?
I DO think, however, that we should earn more WI bucks per posts. I believe it is currently at 3, and I would like that to be raised.

Actually it is at 5 and sometimes you can get 6, I disagree, WI Bucks are actually easy to earn if you participate a lot.
Re: Suggestion: Lower WI Bucks Requirement For Contests
I disagree. Otherwise it would be too easy to win, and it wouldn't seem like you would win "fairly". I agree with Priceless, though, how there should be more per post.
Re: Suggestion: Lower WI Bucks Requirement For Contests
Nothing in life is fair - we must all work towards our goals. Posting is a way earn WI bucks - if you work you earn then your reward is to spend. Just my thoughts on the topic.
Re: Suggestion: Lower WI Bucks Requirement For Contests
I respect your opinion, but have to disagree. If you're super active on the forum you'll reach 500 in no time. It is sort of an award for being a part of WI. It really encourages members to make posts and be more active on the forum. If you someone really wants an item and sees it on the weekly item list, they've got all week to save bucks for their item. Then their points are well spent on that item. If the points were lowered it would also give people a chance to enter more frequently, taking away the chances from other people who really want that item - like a lottery.
A lot of contests in the contest section hosted by moderators also give out WI bucks to entrants or winners as well.
