I've noticed something that happens quite often in clubs.
Someone will sign up, and then never come back. Sure, you have those reminders of, "Hey! Want to go on the ____Club?" You're tired of reminding people. . .and soon, your club closes because none of the members come back.
Most of the time, a person asks, "Can I be Vice President?" To be friendly, you answer, "Sure. " Once they are declared VP, they are inactive on the club. . . a VP should always attempt to be active - they're helping run the club.
There's a button on the top of the thread. It's 'Thread Tools.' Click it, and you'll see a little option that states, 'Suscribe to Thread'. Click on it, and view 'Your Subscriptions.' I always suscribe to threads I know I should be active on, and then, I won't have to search around for the thread, and I remember to post on that thread.
To sum up the point, please be an active member on the clubs you signed up on. There are ways to do this, such as suscribing. If you signed up, then talk about it on the clubs because you care about the topic the club is based upon.
Advice From Others
There is an option to give an automatic subscription- you can see the option when you scroll down, while making a post. It's a lot easier to remember, I know not everyone remembers to suscribe. - Thank you, webkinzluver321!
Owners of the club should also be active, and also, if you make a club, make sure it's a club that you can stay on-topic. - Thanks for pointing this out, Jennielou!
Don't join too many clubs. It can get complicated. - Thanks for the advice, 0jacksonredwall! Stay on-topic for clubs. - Thanks so much, miss sherbert!
Thanx for pointing this out, Salena! I agree! I really don't get why some member sign up and ask for a role, when they don't visit at all. And whenever I post on a thread, it gives me an automatic subscription - you can see this option when you scroll down, while making a post. It's a lot easier to remember, I know not everyone remembers to subscribe. =]
i completely agree. if you go to the poster count (top poster) and go to the bottom, there are so many people that only have one or two posts. i try to be an active member in my clubs. sometimes, i may forget though, or just not be able to keep up with the thread anymore, but i really try to make sure i do at some point. if your going to join a club, interact with the other members, and come back!! great post, and rep!!
I subscribed to my own Animal Crossing club, and the Sims club I joined.
I know, it can get annoying when people just wanna be VP and don't come back. I've had a bunch of people ask to be an official Tips and Trick person on my AC club, and there are about 5 and those who aren't tips and tricks people are actually active and give tips and tricks!
The club owner should be active as well to keep it going, but yes, don't join a club you're not interested enough in to revisit. Make sure when you open a club it's a topic interesting enough to draw members and to have a continuous discussion on. How much "on topic" discussion can you have on straws for example....
Thanks for this friendly reminder Badena2!! People should make sure they are willing to help revisit before they join a club. Also, all members should support the club and keep it active. Good Post, rep!
Thats a very good point! You should only join clubs you KNOW you will go back to. Sometimes you might forget, but thats okay! As long as you are interested in the club you are joining, everything should go well! And as you said, subscribing to a thread is good. And that is! You made a very good point Salena! Thanks!
