Default Stop the repetative posts

Please stop making repetitive axiomatic posts. Is it really necessary to have a dozen 'be nice to each other' posts in two days? Or a million 'how do I become a gift guru' posts? I feel like I see the same posts made by different people a few times a day. It makes it hard to sort through the content of the different boards to find something that's actually NEW.

Before you make a post, perhaps it would be wise to go through other posts on that board and see if someone else has made a similar post in the past day or so.

I see a lot of threads, just basically re-stating the rules..I guess they're just friendly reminders?

Nobody really means any harm by it, they just want to make sure everyone remembers the rules. I know some of the questions are repetitive though, and it wouldn't hurt for people to look at the rules to see if they can find the answer before posting. In the end, its always nice to have a reminder once in a while though.

Hey, relax and enjoy the holiday. You sound VERY uptight.
Yes, there are repetitive posts, but they usually are titled so that you CAN avoid them if you want to. Maybe someone doesn't have the time, or the skill, to dig though 300 posts to make sure that you aren't offended. JAT.

There are always going to be repeats. People see someone breaking the rules and decide they should be the one to remind everyone. Plus, this site is so big people are bound to ask a repeat question after searching through the forum. There are also countless threads complaining about repeat posts which is kind of ironic. It doesn't bother me. I just don't read them all. I definately don't mind answering a repeat question though.

Default Re: Stop the repetative posts

Ironic, because this is a repetitive post, too. Look, some newbies (I consider myself one) have questions. The questions may seem the same, but sometimes people starting threads also want opinions or other members' personal experiences. All questions deserve answers, that's what this site is for. Please be patient. And if a thread looks too repetitive to you, don't read it. I have to say, I'm a "grown up," but I'm way less computer savvy than most of the teens on this site. Maybe the people starting these repetitive threads just don't know where to find the answers to their questions.
