I have seen this suggestion posted before, I think it's time to have it again. It is really important for WI members to remember to STAY on topic. There are a lot of really good threads and in the middle you will start to read posts that have nothing to do with the topic. Talking with other members is great. Just remember to do it in a thread that relates. It very sad to see someone start a thread that is awesome with members that start talking about something completely off the subject. Even in Open Mike, start a thread for your conversations. Don't tie up someone's thread. Respect eachother's thread!
I totally agree with what you just said. I'd hate for one of my threads to be "bombarded" with off topic posts, because then the thread would be losing it's point. If people are going to be off topic on a thread, they should go to the Daily Chat Thread located in the "Open Mike" section. Thank you for bringing this topic up, rep points for you.
Yeah, I mean if you have something to say, why not just post it on thier profile page? Profile pages don't have a specific topic, so it's anything. And when you get off topic during a topic, it argrivates the author of that thread - they want people to post from what they said, not what others said. You know?
I totally agree. Nobody wants their thread filled with spam posts that have nothing to do with their topic. If you want to chat about anything, and random stuff, go to the DCT, but threads are one specific topic, and you're expected to stick to that topic.
