Exclamation Spyware pop-up coming through WI server...

The only website that I have been on tonight is WI and I just recently got a few odd pop-ups. They both looked like your average message that would pop up on your computer--but they are not. They are a virus system and if you click yes, they download their software onto your computer. After the first message, when I had clicked cancel, a new one came up. Again, I pressed cancel. I know another would have come but I...

**closed out of everything I was doing
**cleared temporary internet files
**restarted my computer

I recommend to any of you who get these pop-ups to do the same. It is something coming through the webkinz insider website and I don't think it is supposed to be there.

We have a strong pop-up blocker and it still came through so it could happen to you too. Just click cancel and follow the above steps.

The message says something about "malicious info on your computer that could cause a virus" but I didn't get screen shots because I was more worried about getting it off of my computer. Be on the look out. I hope this gets looked into...

Webkinz Insider used to have pop up (or pop under) advertising, but that account was canceled several months ago. If you are still getting pop up ads while viewing Webkinz Insider, please consider running a virus scan on your computer. It could be that something you picked up elsewhere on the internet is popping up randomly has you surf other pages. --FIA

Was it about a spyware and was it in the form of typical computer messages? ???

That's what I said. I do believe it's a virus. It is always best to click the "cancel" though versus the "no" because sometimes clicking the "no" will still put through what they want to do on your computer.

If you come across one of these, hit down alt+F4. It's the safest way to get out of whatever you are doing. Just like you said, do not click "no." One time I clicked no, and it started downloading. When I took a second look at the ad, it said "click any button to continue."

Thanks for the warning, I'll keep my eyes open for one.

I HATE when those pop up

I get it, and I press cancel, and it starts to download so I have to exit out of it really fast, even if I dont press anything it will go to the download page.

Its so annoying!!

The alt+4 tip is a good tidbit.
