Ok, he's something that really bugs me....and probably a lot of people too. Don't you hate it when someone takes a picture from one of your albums and then puts it in an album on one of their profile albums without even asking first if its ok?? Especially when it says, "please don't take pictures without asking!" at the top of the album page. Thankfully, this hasn't happened to me. (at least i hope not!!) I have seen this happen before. (i think.... i can't remember ) So please, follow these simple steps to not annoy or anger anyone:
Whenever you're visiting an album, always look at the top of the page and see if there is a message like, "please dont take without asking!" or "my pictures! dont take without asking!".
Try to be original and not take anyone's pictures in the first place. I encourage you to try to find your own and be original!
Always be nice and polite when asking and responding. Never be rude. For example: If you asked someone if you could put one of their pics in one of your albums, and they say no, don't answer in a negative tone like this: "Fine! and i think that picture is dum.b anyway! I don't want it anymore!" That is not polite and you could seriously hurt someone's feelings.
And please, if you take a picture from someone's album (WITH asking!), don't forget to thank them!!
Rep! I agree. Even if they did find it on another website (ie: iconater etc. . .) it could've tooken (sp? I'm lazy right now) them a really long time to find it.
i do think that is proper manners to ask to use it, before lifting it. if you made it yourself or modified it in some way, you could ask the person if they would please not use it. however, if you found it on the net then they could have found it there too and i wouldnt ask.
I agree, but you also have to remember that you aren't the only one that can have that avatar.
Unless of course, you specially edited it and it clearly states that YOU made it, then you can say politely that the person didn't ask before taking.
However, there are thousands and thousands of members on WI. Obviously, there are going to be one or two people with the same picture or avatar..it's just common sense that that'll happen. How could you accuse somebody of taking that picture, when other people may have it, too? Maybe the person liked it, and went on a site and find something similar to it, and came across that one? You don't know for sure that somebody took your picture, unless they said on the comment in the album, or they told you. So I'd rather you do some investigating before jumping to conclusions.
And so what if they took your picture? I mean it might be rude to you, but if you look at it positively, it means that they admire you! It feels good knowing that somebody likes something and wants to use it for themselves, doesn't it? So we should be happy about this!
But, then again I agree how the person should get permission before going and taking something that doesn't belong. It's a lose/lose situation. You can't accuse somebody, but you can't find out, either!
So what I'm trying to say, is that just ask before you take! It's called manners, and you'll need to have them later in life.
i don't mind if others use the pics in my albums, since i took them from someone also. but i do agree with you if i made the pics myself. then i definetly would not want other people to take them from me.
however if you really really like a pic, then you shouldn't put it in your album at all
