This is Erin and I love to draw and visit the Artist Cafe.
Well I have noticed something about it.
Some people sometimes do not say very nice things about other peoples artwork.
I say Everybody has thier own style that their proud of, but when you tell them 'Oh come on you can do better' or 'Sorry I don't like it.' Just makes them judge theirselves the wrong way.
We can boost their self Esteem by telling them how good they draw.
Because most people will tell them they draw good and that is really sweet.
I suggest we take in more thought of what we talk of, about their work.
You tell them they draw good and tell them a way they could maybe make it a little more realistic or something.
That would be really thoughtful.
Take the time.
Yes your probably thinking people they do need to know what they need to improve...
But then again you might not know them, so make a person feel good.
That's what I suggest
I love to do you should to!!
Most like the way they draw, I know a person who does.
Most people have a way to draw they love and don't wanna change.
Oh that's totally Ok I do a lot of long Posts to!
I see what you say, I do Agree!
Being deliberately mean is NEVER acceptable! The theatre and art community have plenty critics to do that. I am an artist and I do many forms of art. Although I can draw/paint/sculpt pieces that are very realistic, my favorite is abstract. It is more difficult to show your soul than to try to recreate what God has already done. Most people will like any art that has a continuity and balance of depth, color and texture. It is definitely ok to be honest, just make it constructive and encouraging. Often when I have a gallery opening people will say things like " Your work is beautiful but I don't understand it", or " What were you thinking of when you did this piece ". I find that most people love to attend art shows because they find the environment intriguing and stimulating.
Well, I guess I have gone on too much so good night all. Don't solve all the problems this evening.
I agree with you. It takes a lot of courage to put out on display a piece of artwork for others to look at. If people can't say something nice about it, they should probably skip it. Just remember this though, most of the art masters down through history were judged and took a lot of criticism. If you have a style that is 'you', then don't worry too much about what others say.
Well Desty I halfly agreee with you.
I care of what others say, I want to know if I'm good or not, and for someone to tell me I"m no good,(Which someone did a while many people did)
Really makes me feel like I tired for nothing.
My Parents say I deffinitly have my mind set like a artist.
Because Artist's take things deffintly , they have a lot of confidence.
I can't explain right now, maybe later but you probably know where I'm going with this,
