Yes that's true, people should take a second look at GingerlyToo's post... (it's in this section as a sticky) If you don't look it basically also says that some people can have seizures easily because of the flashy images. So be careful about that!

Also with the big images of people like hannah montana or selena gomez etc... like how those are their profile backgrounds, yes they look cool but i can barely see what i'm typing or what others have said or what that person said to me...

Just always be careful and when you think of something as an avatar, signature etc.. remember to be considerate of other memebers!

Great thread

Cowattack, would my profile be considered "flashy"? I mean, I don't want mine to be to flashy that it hurts people's eyes! If you could tell me(on my profile please, that way you won't have to go everywhere) what you think of my profile. Thanks,

I totally agree
When I visit a 'shiny Profile' it usually locks up my computer (not only because this thing is ancient) but because it somehow is to much for my computer to handle and I usually have to close my browser and re-log in.
I must also bring up the post by Gingerly. Some of the more flashy or 'busy' profiles can cause medical problems like seizures.
It is also hard to concentrate on what your typing into the message box.
1) Sometimes the pictures are to hard to read the text, so I don't know how the owner can read what I wrote.
2) You could easily make quite a few typos, and then the message would be useless.

Great points CowAttack

That's true, but some people (like me!) like flashy pictures in their profile. It's all about self expression. And honestly, it doesn't matter to me because you can turn off what people have done to their profiles. It's their profile. It's not anyone else's.
Hope I'm not being mean or rude in any way

Default Re: Shiny Profiles.

Yeah, actually my profile does have a little flash, but the colors aren't too bright, and I "calmed it down" with solid and paler colors. What do you think? (Comments please, I need to know if I should change my profile)

But, like Tonks22 said, you could always press the Hide button, and the profile will just go plain.

I agree. It can give people headaches, hurt their eyes and even give them seizure.
You are right, they can just have Profile pics or avvies.I mean,I guess they have the freedom to do so.Yes,it is a way to show your freedom of expression, opinion and reflecting your personality. But a deadly way. Thanks for making this thread.Rep point :]

I just turn it to invisible mode. Simple. I don't know how to make one for myself so I left it WI-style.
