Well, it's not perrrrfect.. But it's the best I can do with the built in technology. I think that threads with more words in them may bring up more similar threads. Not sure. Also, I can't remember, but I think I have it set to not allow 3 letter searches, so i might skip over that? LOL... Nevermind, I have no idea what I'm talking about.
Nope, I've been merging 'em as best I can. I know that from 3:00-3:20, yesterday, I merged no less than 22 WOTM threads together!!
Try and create a thread, I've implemented my solution. What do ya'll think?
whoo hoo what a great idea!! I can only HOPE that people take the time to look through the results of the search to see if they can find an answer to their question there, and decide that they may not need to create a new thread. Plus, if there is only one thread (am I dreaming?) for something like the Wheel of the Month issue, no one has to make a new thread to ensure that their posts get read, everyone will be reading from one thread. That way, everyone gets heard.
Thanks for doing this Justin, WI just keeps getting better!
OK, I'll step forward here. When I first started here, I read the forums for a week b4 actually posting. When I did start to post, I learned thru the guidance of the mods (thanks guys!) as to where to post and when things were off topic. After a few months here, I still don't always get it right!
For instance, I posted a haiku tutorial under the Help forum, then had a mod help me move it to where they thought it would be more appropriate. I was one of the WOTM offenders tho, I must confess. I was just excited & wanted to wish everyone good luck. I think we are all guilty sometimes of getting caught up in the moment
We get props for enthusiam tho right?
Justin your solution worked great!!! I even searched for Haiku before trying to post my question about where to post my entry, and didn't find a post... then when I tried to create my post... there's the list... and there's another thread! How AWESOME! As you said, for this to work, people have to be more descriptive in their subject lines AND they have to read the list when it comes up. But the tools are there now, if we just use them.
Thanks so much for ALL of your efforts for this list.
