I never thought about a way to track who you gave points to. I check my once and a while, but I don't expect them. I love the surpise when I do get a new one. I agree that you don't have to tell people you gave them points. If you want to that is fine. I often wonder if I should pm and thank the people who gave me points. I guess it all boils down to what you feel like doing.
I think you are one of the super nice people. Don't worry about what other think, just be yourself.
(And by the way thanks from a few days ago)

So do you think most people know where to look for their rep points and check them frequently? I kinda came across mine accidentally one day when I was just nosing around!

Your block is green means that you have rep. New members start off with it greyed. Once people start messing around in the user cp, they would see it

I agree with Cows on this one. It's a wonderful surprise to check your points from time to time and see that you have made a difference on the forum or just made someone's day a little nicer :-)

Default Re: REP POINTS - TO TELL or NOT TO TELL???

I've just learned how to tell whether or not I already gave someone a rep point for welcoming me.

If you've already given one for a particular post when you click on the little thumb it will say "You cannot give Reputation to the same post twice."

That makes it easy!

I usually send a short "thank you" pm when I receive rep points, but I don't tell anyone when I leave rep. To me, it's fun to discover the points, and I wouldn't want to ruin a surprise for someone else.
