Question "Reminders" or Re-stating rules?

Are these threads allowed? I mean, some of these threads are just re-stating the rules. Like, don't type in red or blue, or be nice, or something like that. I was just wondering if that's allowed, because it's all in the rules. I'd like to know.

Well, sometimes they're simply reminding something that members often forget. Many don't look in the rules too often, and it's nice to be reminded of the rules.

Yes, they're allowed. I find that they're usually put up when members having been paying a lot of attention to a certain rule, so they put the thread up in hopes that someone will see it and remember.

I think they are. It's nice to have a reminder sometimes about what the rules are because often some people forget. I don't think they should keep putting the same reminder over and over again though, because it gets a little repetitive.

I find those kind sof threads really annoying. If someone sees something against the rules, they should flag the post for a mod to take care of it. Constant reminder threads are a nuisance.

Yes, those threads can get annoying. However, I think if a member has seen a rule broken many times, it's best if they put up a little reminder for it.

They may be repetitive, but sometimes people are motivated to act based on something that they have seen more than once that particular day. If they bother you, don't read them, but I think the reminders are important as people still break the rules and the mods and admins don't necessarily have the time to keep remindng us of the rules. This way we can police ourselves a bit.

I truly dislike those threads. That info is in the FAQ or on other places in WI and I see no reason for them to be restated in a thread. That being said, however, doing so is not against the rules ... just annoying so I simply try to avoid them.

I agree, Smitchell. I see tons of no writing in red and blue, and be nice threads, and it's right there in the rules, people just need to read them LOL Thanks for posting everyone
