Something like that would make this a reminder thread, but if you look at the front post, she's just saying that it's annoying, and just gives her opinion. If it was a rule, then we'd all have to agree to it. But this is just opinions, and we're all entitled to agree & disagree about reminder threads.

ok, i agree a little now, but still, not all of them are bad. most of them are very informative and important, and most don't ask for reps.

Yep, that's fine. As I said before, we all are entitled to our own opinions.
Yeah, I don't think rep is the biggest concern here, it's just those reminder threads, that are 2 sentences, they do get pretty annoying, just clogs up the forum.

i have to agree with the "2 sentence" threads. but sometimes, there really isn't much more to say, or maybe the person just isn't a good writer and just posts that because they feel that it is good enough and doesn't need anymore fine little details.

The reminder threads are there for a REASON.

But when there's some who just want to COPY and get ALLthe credit for some, then THAT'S annoying, but other, sthere for a REASON.

I partly agree with you...

But sometimes, some of those reminder threads are needed multiple times! Some people don't get things the first time! And what if they don't say 'no rep needed'? I think that those reminders are needed, and some people honestly aren't looking for reputation, just to remind people a second or third time!

But I do agree when people do say 'I'm not looking for rep' or 'no rep needed', because it says the opposite of what the writing is...it makes the person who created the thread say 'yeah, since I said that, people will give me even more rep and think that I'm not interested in it!!'

Well as the readers, we don't think that. We think, 'now that the person is saying that...I don't think they really intended to remind, just snooping for rep!'

And some people make pointless threads just for reputation. It's ridiculous, in my opinion.

Dogluver's thread about proper english was not what I would consider a reminder thread, at all.
Most of the reminder threads I see now, are usually only one or two sentences, just saying the rules that we all should know by now.
Threads like dogluver's took time and effort. He made examples, edited a few times, threads like that could actually need. We don't need two dozen threads about being nice.
Threads like that deserve rep. Not those 2 sentence reminder threads.
Sorry if I offended anyone at all, this is just my opinion. Some of you may disagree, but that's ok. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion . . . . as long as we're polite, and we get along.

Thank you I really appreciate it. I admit that I did spend some time working on it, and I'm glad it wasn't time wasted

I sort of agree with you on this one. When people say, "Please don't give me rep," sometimes I think the opposite, although their intentions might not be it. That's why I never post anything about rep because it's the person's own choice.

Oh, you're welcome! Well, the time definitely wasn't wasted, I've seen a lot of "don't use text speak" threads before, but never one quite like yours.

Ah, when I see people say "please don't give me rep," or "no rep needed," I just laugh so hard.
They might as well say "I want rep please" straight out, because that's how most of us read it anyways.
But, like you, I just respect their "wish," and don't give them rep.

I completely agree! No one really needs them! I like that thread section suggestion, though! I'm giving you a rep, anyways, though.
