Default Reminder- royalty free!

Just a reminder, but please make sure that all the images you use for graphics and such are ROYALTY FREE. That means that you can use them and that they are not copyrighted. It really is rude when you use someone else's work and, although you may not know you are doing it, you could be using a copyrighted siggy right now! I do not use google that often, and when I do, I check to make sure the image is copyright free. I do use getty images, however. Here is a quote from Smitchell.

Quote:
A great website for free images iswww.gettyimages.com. When you do a search, you can search for "royalty-free (RF)" images.

For example: If I want to find a picture of a wolf to use. I would use the search engine in Getty. Type wolves, select ONLY the royalty-free RF box then search. You will get tons of items but to refine, you can select Creative Images to the left. (Editorial images are usually pictures of people). I did this and got tons of wolf pictures that are FREE to use.

Please, please, please refrain from using copyrighted images...you don't want to get in trouble, right?

That's fine. But when you just use google, you never know what might be copyrighted.

I use those sites as well. I'm pretty sure they are all meant to be used so it wouldn't be a problem.

Yes, I agree. If I use some other websites with images (for example, a very most often used website for pictures is iconator), I would say I did not make it and got it off a Website. I would also read the comment from the original owner from the image to see if I could use it. If it says "only look, but please do not take", I would absolutbly NOT take it because they don't want you to. Thanks for the reminder Ave!

Great Reminder
I usually make my own signatures, which I put a 'w814' on each so if someone was to come along and take it it is always there. Though people may not know it, it is just like stealing.
Thank you Ave
