Exclamation REMINDER:Respect other's opinions

I've seen many people disagree on various topics and become rude and angry at each other. Please remember, respect other's opinions, even if you do not agree with them. And if someone starts to be rude, turn the other cheek or notify a mod. Help keep WI a safe and happy place.

Have a great day.

Yes, this is very true. Different people have their opinions, and not everyone
agrees on everything. It would be nice, but it's not like that. If you disagree
with someone and their ideas, don't call them a nasty name. Think about how
the other person would feel if you stated your opinion. Very good thread, and
I think it deserves a Rep point!

Love,

I totally agree. There was a thread just today that really saddened me.

I didn't post to it because of how I felt.

If I can't say anything nice I just won't post.

I think that when you come to someone's thread and have a negative opinion, you should really consider posting anything at all. I had a fairly popular thread closed and then deleted because one person came and disagreed (adding my idea was terrible) and then I kindly tried to explain my idea in easier terms. They were still rude about it and another person came in and was rude to them about being rude to me. I kept saying...please just DROP IT. They both took offense and flagged the thread. And then BECAUSE of THEM, my thread was deleted...that is not fair to members who work hard on threads to have them closed/deleted because other people just can't fight the urge to fight...

Thanks for posting, I think this is really important because in real life, it is easy to appologize than online. And we want to make sure everyone is happy.

Default Re: REMINDER:Respect other's opinions

However, there is also the problem that some readers are more sensitive to any kind of criticism {whether it was meant at all, meant in that way, etcetera} so there is that to consider as well. I have seen people post in full on something that is obviously an opinion, and since it's in the forum supposedly meant to get comments, feedback and so on. However, if they get any kind of comments that don't totally agree with what they wrote they take offense and claim the poster is being rude {and what's worse other posters jump on that wagon as well}. If they are that thin skinned and/or not really seeking opinions but agreements only then they should state that in the post {so I and others wouldn't bother wasting time typing out what our thoughts and facts are on whatever the issue being talked about is}.
