Okay so recently I have seen a lot of members (not pointing fingers) but mostly it is the newer members, and I get that they may not get the rules of wi.
but this blue . and this red .
are off limits to Members other than Admins and Moderators.
They are only to be used in the gift exchange for the first post only to highlight stuff, for normal members :).
(wait... this is probably the fifth thread I've seen about this. CONGRATULATIONS, YOU ARE THE FIFTH PERSON TO MAKE A THREAD ABOUT THIS COOKIE FOR YOU )
But yes. We're all aware of this. It's been said a million times before. Any new members who use that are very quickly reminded not to, and that's the end of that. (I, myself, used blue ink when I first started WI, and was swiftly met with several VMs saying "DON'T USE BLUE INK". So I didn't. And I still don't. )
It's one of those general rules around the forums.
It seems almost all the new members use red, or mostly blue, ink.
I must admit, when I first started, I used blue ink too (Hey, it matched my A/S!)
One thing I've always wondered, couldn't WI just remove the red and blue ink colors?
That way new people don't have to be bombarded with "red and blue font is reserved for staff!" messages.
Please do not use this shade of BLUE or this RED which are reserved for staff use only.
This applies everywhere on the forum, including on profiles. The only place that you can use these colours is in the first post of your GE, within moderation. Also it will be allowed within your signature or avatar, again in moderation only. That means, mostly that it must not catch my eye and make me think that it's a moderator comment.
It's not correct to point a finger at new members on this issue, since lots of older members forget about it too.
No, we cannot remove those two colours from the colour choices, otherwise we'd have removed them a long time ago!
Another rule associated with this one is: please do not remove red or blue moderator comments from your posts, leave them there. If you really have a good reason to wish for their removal, PM the moderator who wrote the comment, and ask them to remove it, giving your reason.
