I am not sure about this. I know I would be mad if my MMWF was closed for inactivity (it is, not for inactivity though). I think some forums such as the General Webkinz Chat section, Open mike ;; Etc.
However, I don't think that MMWF, Graphic shop ;; Etc. should stay open, as you always have the option to flag for a Global Mod/Admin to close .
When your 2 weeks are almost up, and no one has posted on your thread, you can post something yourself to keep your thread open. Don't just bump it up, or ask for posts, which is not allowed; but you can post a comment, add a detail, tell us something, or add a picture. If it's a thread worth keeping open, I'm sure that you can think of something interesting to post. This will keep your thread open for another 14 days.
In my opinion, if even the thread owner cannot think of something to post on their thread, it has run its course....
And of course, if your thread closes, just flag it and ask to reopen it. We're happy to do that for you, unless there is a specific reason to keep it closed.
I think this was a great idea! If threads didn't shut down after a couple of weeks then people could still be commenting on threads from two years ago o.O
If you want to reopen one of your own threads then you could just flag it and a mod or admin would reopen it for you (:
If certain threads weren't active then it'd be a waste to leave them open. Therefore they're shut and then the mods and admins wouldn't have to think about those threads anymore (;
Plus after two weeks people forget about the thread entirely.
The reason why I think its a good idea is because some people do some sort of thing called "bump". Bump is a word to bring back the topic to keep it alive, but if people do that, then bumps will be everywhere!
Its best if we close it due of inactivity.
