I've seen a lot of VERY helpful posts that I wish I could reward even more after giving a rep point to it.
What there was a little button next to each post, and would could choose +1, -0-, or -1? Kinda like the feedback system, but it doesn't do anything to your account. Just so people can see what other people think of what you posted?
I agree. There are times where I really like what someone has to say, and I want to publicly announce it, but I don't want to rate the whole thread.
Maybe like a little thumb up or thumb down thing. Those of you who go on youtube or yahoo answers would know what I mean. The only problem could be that it might get confusing with the reputation thumb.
I kind of agree with you. The rep points are OK, but I don't like the idea of young people thinking it's a popularity contest or something. I'm just an overreacting adult, I guess!
I am one of those young people and do not think at all that WI is some popularity contest. I think that a lot of others feel the same way and what does rep points have to do with how popular you are? I don't think anyone is "popular" the way you are at school. In my opinion when you are popular you are known for helping people at least on WI. Is that a bad thing?
I do love the idea especially thumbs up and thumbs down! I don't really like the negative points you suggested though. If you wanted to rate someone's post please do it positively. If you didn't like it then don't rate it at all
