I see your point and I also agree with most of the people who have posted before me. I don't visit avatar or signature shops very often (in fact I've only visited that section of the forum once!). When I need a new avvie or siggie, I either put it together myself or hold a design contest.
if making a graphic in any form brings happiness and contentment to a person, then they have been successful in what they have done.
As others have said, not everyone has the means to create a "handmade" graphic, and that's ok.
I think, in the end, if the graphic shop owner is happy with what they have done, then they have achieved what they set out to do.
I agree-- I see a graphic as something hand-made (either made with a program or on lunapic--excluding animations) by that person. The other things---sticky notes, glitter, dolls, etc..--- are images made with templates on websites.
Well, as long as they don't say they made it "handmade" I don't see the problem with them making minifestos and userbars, etc, for people.
Because some people don't have photoshop and can't make the fabulous graphics that a lot of other people make. And if they are happy with making minifestos and userbars and such for people, I think it's fine.
I partially agree. Like MommaB said, not everyone knows how to make a handmade graphic - and all a/s makers shouldn't be forced to use completely handmade graphics. Some graphic makers are more skilled than others, not like it needs to be pointed out, but it shows in their work.
I use wigflip for stickies & minifestos, because sometimes people need them - so I offer them, obviously. I use kaoanis as well as many other people, but don't claim any credit for the whatsoever.
But my most popular graphics [banners, avvie & siggy sets, collages, etc.] are all made from programs. I sometimes use image editing sites, but I don't like sites like "imagechef" or "glitterfy" because of their tag - it ruins the graphic, in my opinion.
The success of my shop [and many others] is usually due to handmade graphics though, hopefully members notice this. As long as members are happy w/ the graphics they make or order from other shops, I don't see any reason to complain.
But maybe this thread will encourage other members to explore new graphic making sites, and such. Which I appreciate.
