Burstnet specifically has caused me a problem, and it IS from WI, so hopefully someone will look into this instead of just saying it isn't.

I have an excellent pop-up blocker, so I just never get them, and was very surprised to get one visiting the main page of this site just a few days ago!

It was Burstnet, and I wasn't able to close it, or block it with my usual defenses. It was an ad placed to the right of the screen on the main page. It seemed to be tied right into WI and wasn't even coming up as a linked site that I could ban.

Anyhow, I was pretty mad, but then I got over it. Now I'm kinda mad again to see people jumping to say oh no, not WI when it is. That's not cool.

We've probably all got Burstnet cookies or something that's allowing the site to connect to us. I don't think it's a virus, but perhaps WI would like to post a link that can help us get rid of it??

Anyhoo...gonna go back to games now.

Yes, you're right...it does seem to be from WI. My brower says "waiting for burset" as it's loading the pages here but only when I'm at WI. There seems to be some connection that maybe could be explored.

the best way to deal with it would be to get a good pop up blocker (i have one on my computer and i never have them now) and be very careful what you click on while online. Don't fall for silly advertisements, and beware of what "free" sites you are getting things from.
