P.S. Speaking of correct grammar, does the comma after "'proper English'" go inside or outside the quotation marks? I always forget... LOL.
You had it right, the punctuation goes inside the quotation marks.

i agree to a point ... i say plz and lol and jk and lmk but i dont go you extremes. i misspell sometimes but i dont go overboard. i think abreveations are fine but your example is very hard to read even though i could understand. thanks so much for pointing it out and maybe it will be less of a problem, but i can just tell abreveations wont stop because its just life to typers now. thansk again =]

Yeah chat speak does get annoying specially on forums when you can take your time typing out words.

It took me awhile to get used to all of the chat speak. When you are chatting back and forth to people, it's perfectly natural to use it.

When you are trying to conduct a trade with someone new on a thread, it may be more appropriate to use less chat speak.

i ttly (totally) understood what ur (your) saying but txt (text) talk is fun and faster then typing out a whole word. using things like omg, r, u 4, is okay but what u had typed was easy 2 (to) read to me but it if texting wasn't {like} my 2nd (second) language.

that was accuatly quite easy for me to read but the 'un-english' i use is like texting:
LOL, BRB, BBL, ttyl, cya, g2g, nm, stuff like that
Translations:
Laugh out loud, be right back, be back later, talk to you later, got to go, not much

its alot easier and i do the simple ones.... and most know those
