Sometimes, people aren't sure where to post (i.e. Got a new puppy. Do I post in open mike or look what I got?) also, sometimes it's a mistake. if you don't like something, flag it and move on, a modwill tell them the right section. Most of the time it is a mistake, although annoying at times.

I understand that some people don't know where to post, but some people just post wherever! It drives me nuts.

Yeah, I gently tell people and report it, so a mod can move it.

I don't agree with this entirely, but I agree with the main idea.
True, some people should try and pay more attention to where they post. But if they honestly have no clue, I don't blame them. And for the you flagging those posts, I don't think that's right.. but that's just me.

I don't agree with that, I think you should tell them gently that they are in the wrong section. Yes it's annoying, but you don't HAVE to read it. Anyways if it's in the wrong section, I think flagging it is a bit harsh. Just telling the person, usually solves the problem. Mods also move it and I think it's their responsibility.

Pianolover - one thing to remember - light green is almost impossible to read - I'm sure you have some good points based on the response to your thread but I cannot read anything you have written.

It's against the rules to post in the wrong sections.

If it's something minor, like a "Look at my new Goldfish!" post in General, no biggie. A mod usually eventually moves it anyway, and it is at least Webkinz related, so I wouldn't flag it.

But an "Ewww, OMG, HELP! I got a pimple. What do I do???" thread in "Somebody Help" is getting a flag from me. If something obviously does not belong, there's no harm in flagging it. It just speeds up the process, since a mod eventually would have moved it anyway.
