Default Please post in the right section of the forum

My friends at Webkinz Insider,

Lately I have seen many threads in the wrong
section. I've had to flag many posts for this
reason. Sometimes I wonder if people are
paying attention to which section they are posting
in. I can understand if a new member does it once,
but I've seen multiple threads by the same user in
the wrong section.

It is very sad. I mean, I hate clicking that little red
flag. I don't think it likes being clicked either. So,
please do me a favor... POST IN THE CORRECT
SECTION!

I want to thank those of you who are posting in
the correct section. It takes work away from the
staff, whose life is already busier than any of us
could ever imagine.

Thank you,
Pianolover

Maybe I'm wrong, but that sounds like flag abuse in my opinion. Some forum titles are open to many different topics. I think I would only flag one if someone new was introducing themselves and should be in the welcome section where people can see it. Anyway, the moderators may have a different view on this than me, but that's why it's their job, not mine.

Yes, I agree. It is difficult and annoying when you're reading through a section seeing all these off-topic posts. Users go to a topic for a certain reason, to read threads about that topic. Not a completely different topic.
It is also hard when you are reading through a section and see all the 'moved' signs.. ugh.. why can't people just post in the correct section? It's not funny when you purposly post in the wrong place.

I mean, I was in the General Discussion section, and I saw a Birthday thread. I was in the Birthday section, and I saw a party thread....

I understand what you mean, but I really don't believe it's intentional 99.9% of the time. Also, it's great to follow the rules, but we shouldn't get carried away. People make mistakes and when it happens we should guide them in the right direction, not scold them or report them as if they were doing something harmfull to others.

This is a good reminder to all of us. I guess my feeling about reporting a post is that you're giving the person posting the opportunity to learn from a moderator or administrator - not just what they did wrong, but how to do it better - rather than trying to get them in trouble.
