I don't even read threads like that any more. I've seen it used too many times as a ploy when the thread lacks substance. Rarely have I clicked on a thread, which has a teaser for a title, and there was something there worth reading. Those exceptions are few and far between. Someone could have something meaningful to say but miss-out on their voices being heard because of the title.
I completely agree. I browse through the forum deciding which threads to read by mousing over the titles and deciding whether they interest me. Mostly I skip threads whose titles do not let me know what the content is. And the few times that I do click on them, I am often annoyed at wasting my time on a thread that has no interest to me! Thanks for this suggestion!
Well 'Guess What??' like you said, isn't specific and some people may feel they wasted their time. 'Guess What??' isn't relevant to what's in your thread. Which basically means, it's not what's on the inside.
Like, you don't read a book that has Hannah Montana on it and it's about High School Musical. It just doesn't work that way. Try to let people know what's in your thread.
And the other one, it still tells what's in the thread. So, for me, it's not really that bad. Like, maybe you could do this;;
Thread Title: Which do you like better: pancakes or waffles?
I personally love pancakes, but waffles are good too. What do you think?
So you really don't need to put paragraphs of writing saying, what you like better. That will most likely bore some people. (No Offense!!!) You just have to put a sentance or two. Unless you are describing something. Like which fish do you like better??
And do short bios on those fish in the choices. Do you get what i'm saying? lolzzzz.
