Default Re: Please don't do this...

I agree, I have seen this a few times and I don't like when people do that...

Let's say that a kid that you hardly know on your bus gets a new phone. You probably wouldn't go up to them and ask where they got it or how much they paid, would you? Probably not... (unless you're one of those noisy little people ) Instead you would probably say "Awesome new phone! It looks really cool, what can you do on it?"

I think asking questions here on WI like "What are you gonna name your pet?" or "Can you post it's room when you're done?" are okay, but asking where they got it might seem a little noisy... And as for asking the price, maybe some don't fell comfortabe sharing how much money they're spending on Webkinz... If they want to tell us in the 1st post, I guess that's fine, but we shouldn't be pressuring them to tell us...

Great thread!

I agree with you. to a point.

However........it is human nature for us to ask.

If there is going to be a brag thread, or a thread to show off our latest finds. (which is cool. everyone loves to show what they found or recently got, what they named it, who they got it from, etc....) I think it is upon themselves to expect some questions. which I believe is fine. within limits.

It is just like getting a new bike, or a new car (older folks) or a diamond ring (us ladies) or golf clubs (the men), the latest trading cards. People are going to oohh and aahh, and then they are going to ask where you got it and how much you paid.

It is how we live through other people. We imagine ourselves doing the same thing. It is natural for us to do so. WITHIN reason.

If someone is going to post on the thread what they got, expect some of the regular questions, people are naturally curious. It is not meant to be annoying, they are just happy for you. But if the questions get out of line, or cross a line. like "can you get me some" or something worse that has to do with personal information.....

stop the conversion immediately and report them.

madgirl8097 will become famous soon enough

Default Re: Please don't do this...

I have seen that before, but it is very rare and i agree completely.
When it comes to stuff in webkinz world itself, like stuff from the curio shop, it is completely okay in my opion to ask when they got it and if it will be there again. But in real life, with rare webkinz, it is not okay because it makes you seem kind of selfish and not congratsulating the person on their rare find.

I agree that it is natural for us to be curious, but it comes down to good manners, if someone wants to share that information as to how much, or where, when and how - more than likely they would have added this in their first post... so if not just congratulate them and move on.
