There is one thing that I see on WI daily, and I think it's very rude and disrespectful.
When someone is posting their opinon, and you disagree, you should not be rude about it!
One way I have seen this happen is the big "No offense" that people seem to think makes everything happy to the original poster. There are some situations where this might be ok, but when we are dealing with another person and their opinon, then it is just plain rude.
Like for example, there is a thread on the coolest webkinz.
Usernamexxxxx thinks that the cheeky monkey is coolest, while usernamebbbbb thinks that the pug is cooler. Usernamebbbbbb would say "No offence, but I don't really like the cheeky monkey, I like the pug better." That would be a better way than "No offence, but I hate the cheeky monkey!! It's ugly, and the pug is way better!!"
I was just visiting a thread with a different topic, but it was a suggestion for WI, and someone just trashed the poster and then afterwards said "no offence" which I found was really rude, and if I was the thread started, I would be very very offended.
So basically, adding "no offence" does not make your post any less offensive.
Sorry for my rant.
I'm half-n-half with your opinion here (This post ehre is IMHO)
I find that it is OK to disagree with others (like you said) but I find a way to d it politely (like you said!)
I quote the post (like now) make references to the post (like now) and I always (notw that I know) put 'IMHO' at the top of my post that is my opinion.
There is a girl at my school that is very goody-goody-ish and has to correct everyone's opinion. I find that rude. You can share your own opinion while commenting on another person's, and sharing your feelings about that. (Wish I had the guts to tell that girl!)
