Unhappy Please control the urge to argue even if you think are helping!

I think that when you come to some one's thread and have a negative opinion, you should really consider posting anything at all. I had a fairly popular thread closed and then deleted because one person came and disagreed (adding my idea was terrible) and then I kindly tried to explain my idea in easier terms. They were still rude about it and another person came in and was rude to them about being rude to me. I kept saying...please just DROP IT. They both took offense and flagged the thread. And then BECAUSE of THEM, my thread was deleted...that is not fair to members who work hard on threads to have them closed/deleted because other people just can't fight the urge to fight...

I leave you with this thought, even if you think you are being helpful....you are not always doing such a thing. Starting ANY back and forth banter will always cause hurt feelings and typically a closed/deleted thread. Think about what you post before you do...don't cause the thread starter to lose their thread because you can't hold your tongue or shall I say your fingers as you type...

May I please add this note for the moderators and administrators...
I think that deleting the argumentative threads and trying to get the thread back on track would be better then closing it or deleting it entirely.

So true... Seriously people, you learn this in Pre-K. 'If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.'

I guess I just feel like if you come across a thread, you are doing better for everyone to either politely disagree or even make a nice statement of why you disagree or not say anything at all...then disagree rudely or totally diss the idea.

They look and I assume that they will try what they can to not have to close/delete it but sometimes the arguing is so bad that they just do that.

It really hurts to have people come to your own thread, choose to fight, and be the reason it gets closed/deleted.

They wouldn't close or delete a thread for a dumb reason though...

I think that deleting the argumentative threads and trying to get the thread back on track would be better then closing it or deleting it entirely.

Although it is a great idea in theory to get these threads back on track, the fact of the matter is, once an argument has started, it very rarely stops. It is extremely difficult to sit on a thread and hope that tempers will not flare yet again, the sad truth is, people tend to keep coming back for more.
That is the reason these types of threads are closed....it is best to realize that we have members of all ages, walks of life and opinions on here, we have to learn to respect each other, even if we don't agree.

I think it's OK to disagree, but remember t keep it respectful. I <3 webkinz, we've debated a few times and were able to keep it friendly. So, I agree 50%. Sometimes a debate is fun, but sometimes it get ugly. Meanness is NEVER ok.

That is true. If you can help in a nice, mature manner then by all means try to help..But, if it's a very big issue, I'd suggest to leave it up to the mods.
